BJP lawmaker Anurag Thakur said, “I know you didn’t get the chance to go inside the Prime Minister’s house, so you attempted to lie down in front of it".
Supriya Sule (NCP) seeks JPC amid debate on anti-paper leak bill, says legislation has internal contradictions.
“You will never be able to go inside”, he added.
Thakur also asserted that the Modi government would crack down on the paper leak mafia and eliminate those responsible for compromising competitive examinations.
He was participating in the debate in Lok Sabha debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
Lok Sabha on Tuesday took up the debate on much awaited anti-paper leak draft law.
The Bill, tabled by Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday, seeks to strengthen the anti-paper leak law and increase the punishment for those involved in paper leaks.
This comes after a week of repeated disruptions and three days after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as the Union Education Minister following over a month-long protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over the NEET paper leak.
The breakthrough between opposition parties and the Govt on Monday came after a day of behind-the-scenes negotiations led by Speaker Om Birla and government floor managers.
Speaker Birla personally reached out to floor leaders across party lines during a three-hour adjournment from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Earlier in the day, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said:
"The Prime Minister appointed a new Education Minister, a person who expressed consent and even happiness over the release of those convicted of raping a pregnant woman... "
Objecting to this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju says, " This amounts to character assassination within Parliament, and we do not expect such language...These statements should be expunged from the record. Secondly, such language should not be used...She should apologise to the House ".
Joshi, who was present in the House, and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also objected to such a statement from the Congress leader.

Anurag Thakur also said:
"...Exam irregularities and paper leaks are no less dangerous than terrorism or Maoism; our youth are the primary victims.
I want to assure the youth of our country that we will find a definitive solution to this ‘paper leak’ problem.
Just as the Modi government has provided solutions and remedies for every other challenge, we are going to resolve this issue as well.
"This country suffered for decades due to the tyranny and wounds inflicted by terrorism and Naxalism.
It was the Modi government that worked to heal those deep wounds.
We are the ones who have eradicated terrorism and Naxalism from the root, and we will do the same to eliminate the problem of paper leaks".
