Return of 2002 anti-Muslim mayhem in political dictum in run up to 2024 ... shows the potency of 'undercurrent Hindutva politics'

(( Mounting pressure on Rahul Gandhi, the BJP to take Wayanad seat in Kerala from coalition partner BDJS))

"In 2002, there was rioting. After that, Modi saheb taught them a lesson. Tell me, has there been any rioting since then? In 2002, the rioters were taught such a lesson that till date no one has dared to cause rioting in Gujarat." --

-- said Amit Shah, Home Minister and PM Narendra Modi's most trusted friend

(Blogger's book, 'Godhra – Journey of a Prime Minister' starts with the Gujarat riots of 2002 and provides updates on subsequent socio-political situation in the country which resulted in Narendra Modi's metamorphosis into a major national leader, and subsequently as India's Prime Minister.

(More and more gruesome details are going to come out every day. A book, 'A Journey to Mayhem' written by a journalist who covered Gujarat during the riots, has hit the stands to tell how a distinct pattern of ethnic cleansing was followed in the state. - Kuldip Nayar for 'Gulf News' April 17, 2004)

Well -- it goes without stating ---  Return of 2002 anti-Muslim mayhem in political dictum in run up to 2024 ... shows the potency of 'undercurrent Hindutva politics' !!

India's Home Minister Amit Shah made the remarks at the "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra" in Sanand, Ahmedabad district, while applauding PM Narendra Modi for making Ram Temple a reality, scrapping Article 370, launching Chandrayaan-3 among others.

Gujarat is certainly the proud Indian state in western flank having produced Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and of course two Prime Ministers Morarji Desai and Narendra Modi.

For that matter even Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a Gujarati.

In 2014 and 2019 parliamentary polls, little to wonder that the BJP won all the 26 seats.

In 2019, the saffron party's vote share was 62.21% as against 32.11% by Congress. In 2014, the BJP vote share was around 60 percent.

Friends and compatriots !!

Amit Shah also said, "Earlier, bomb blasts were so frequent that journalists used to forget about writing. Modi saheb, through one surgical and air strike, taught Pakistan a lesson. Thus, Modi saheb worked to keep the country safe."

"For 550 years, Lord Ram was kept in a tambu (tent) in the country. There was no temple. Modi saheb built the temple at once," he said.

"The dream of abrogating Article 370 from Kashmir was unfulfilled since the time of Sardar Patel and Syama Prasad Mookerjee  but Modi saheb revoked it immediately".  In reference to the Moon Mission, the Home Minister said, "Entire world reached the moon but not our tricolour. Narendrabhai sent Chandrayaan to the moon and he even worked for hoisting tricolour at Shiv Shakti point (the landing site of Chandrayaan-3 near moon's south pole)".

News highlights:

Sultanpur (UP): The MP-MLA Court on Saturday (Dec 16) summoned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on January 6 in a case in which he has been accused of making certain remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The case stems from a lawsuit filed on August 4, 2018, by BJP  leader Vijay Mishra in which he accused Rahul Gandhi of making objectionable remarks against Amit Shah.

**** The BJP likely to start reworking election strategies in Wayanad in Kerala.

The Lotus party is considering 'many senior leaders' including national leaders for the newly made 'prestigious' Wayanad seat in Communists-ruled Kerala.

Rahul Gandhi had lost family's traditional Amethi seat in UP to Union Minister Smriti Irani but had won the Wayanad seat.

The BJP had left the Wayanad seat to its ally BDJS. The state president of the regional outfit, Thushar Vellappally, who is the son of Vellappally Natesan, general secretary of SNDP Yogam that represents the prominent Hindu Ezhava community, had contested against Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad in 2019.

Earlier there was speculation that perhaps Rahul Gandhi could contest from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. This constituency has a substantial Christian population.

Will Rahul dump Wayanad ?
