Rajnath Singh named as BJP observer for Rajasthan::::: Lok Sabha Ethics Committee report on TMC MP Mahua Moitra tabled

BJP MP and chairman of Lok Sabha Ethics Committee Vijay Sonkar on Friday, Dec 8 tabled its report on Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra.

The Lok Sabha was adjourned until 2 pm amid a ruckus. The panel which probed the ‘cash-for-query’ case has recommended Moitra’s disqualification.

Congress floor leader in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "The issue is going on for a long time...It is putting the wrong message across the nation. Why does this government do revenge politics?

PM Modi talks well but I don't understand why's there so much difference in his speech and actions...What was such a huge mistake that suspension from the house was needed? Can they not ask her in the House in front of everyone...It appears to be a dictatorship...".

BJP appoints Rajnath Singh, Haryana CM Khattar as observers in states to pick up Chief Ministers

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and party general secretaries Saroj Pandey and Vinod Tawde will go to Rajasthan as central observer, the saffron party announced.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, OBC morcha chief K Laxman and National Secretary Asha Lakra have been appointed to oversee the selection in Madhya Pradesh.  For Chhattisgarh, the observers will be Union ministers Arjun Munda, Sarbananda Sonowal and general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam.

The appointment of former party president Rajnath Singh is significant as he reportedly enjoys good rapport with former chief minister Vasundhara Raje — one of the key contenders for the chief minister post in Rajasthan.

Going slow after sweeping poll victories in three key Hindi heartland suggests the BJP central leadership favour 'transitions' and would not to commit any mistake prior to the crucial Lok Sabha elections. They would prefer a consensus amid claims and counter claims from various camps including caste groups and various political lobbies.

Of course Prime Minister Narendra Modi's face was presented before the people and the party avoided naming any CM candidate. PM himself and heavyweight strategist Amit Shah are keenly monitoring developments and would give their final say in due course.

From Madhya Pradesh, Union Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar and MoS Food Processing Industries Prahlad Singh Patel have resigned.

Renuka Singh Saruta is probably in the race for the prized post in Chhattisgarh. She was elected as a member of the legislative assembly from Bharatpur-Sonhat. She served as the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs under PM Modi from 30th May 2019 to 7th December 2023.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje has been assigned additional charge of MoS in Ministry of Food Processing Industries which was vacated by Patel. Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda will hold the additional charge of the Agriculture ministry after Tomar quit.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar has been assigned the additional charge as MoS in Ministry of Jal Shakti while Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharti Pravin Pawar has been given additional charge as MoS in Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

All 12 BJP MPs who successfully contested the assembly polls had submitted their resignations on Wednesday amid indications that they may join the new governments in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
