Shiv Sena endgame - a lesson for 'dynasts', it is bitter lesson for Sickularists

New Delhi

Hindutva matters on ground, not intellectualism and elitist politics of
Hindu bashing or ridiculing Moditva as are known in drawing rooms-variety.

Shiv Sena has faced political challenges in the past too; but this is the
biggest crisis ever.

It took a few days and there was a mega volte face. In 2019, Shiv Sena played up the worst of a betrayal card in opportunistic oriented electoral politics. It won 56 seats in the name of 'development' and partnership with BJP in the assembly polls and quickly crossed over to NCP-and Sonia Gandhi led Congress camp to come to power, rather satisfy personal ambition to become Chief Minister.

'Sickularists' Duo

All strong anti-Congress legacy -- a 'proud characteristic' of a Sainik and Bala Saheb's ideologies

were forgotten in no time.

With father Uddhav Thackeray as the Chief Minister, his son Aditya became a minister. And for Indian

liberal intellectuals, it took days to find another 'talent' in the highly enriching generation of young and

enterprising 'sickular' camp.

Aditya was billed in select English media and opinion pages as the next big thing to happen to India after

Rahul Gandhi !

Hard core Sena critics became Sena admirers in no time. They were also pleased as Maharashtra's

ruling establishment took 'orders' from Sharad Pawar -- a permanent PM-material !

Maharashtra's political lingo changed. They appeared more like Sonia-camp's blatant pro-Christian

rhetoric.

Malliks became virtuous surnames around !

Insulting Hindu culture and tradition became the order of the day !

PM Narendra Modi would be ridiculed even on issues his name need not figure.

Now that most Sena MLAs have gone incommunicado to Uddhav Thackeray, the same sickular intellectuals

have gone silent.  A ten-minutes tele chat did take place between Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray,

poor son of Balasaheb is getting the lesson of his life.

Press clubs in various parts of India gave a sombre look virtually; and some some-know

all and 'nothing doing' media organisations would soon prepare to question BJP's 'operation Kamal'.

The reality is the Sena legislators know heart in heart the 'compromise' made by Uddhav vis-a-vis

Hindutva principles would be difficult for them to justify when they seek mandate in 2024.

No matter, whether Uddhav Thackeray succeeds to stay on in office with the help of Maharashtra's 'most talented

political manipulator and perhaps still in the bigger rice for PMship' or not; the big message is any ear-on-ground

political workers and legislators know what are the real issues when they face people.

Lucid debates in nothing doing TV channels and commentaries in a section of wire-webs and English newspapers

are never a guarantee to winning an election.

Eknath Sindhe and his people know what they have decided.

Shinde had tweeted, “Balasaheb has taught us Hindutva. We have never and will never betray

Balasaheb's thoughts".

'Intellectualism' and that also punctuated with Hindu bashing do not work on ground.

These are best left for a few newspaper pages and highly motivated viewers of nothing doing type TV channels.
