Rajnath or Tribal president and woman !

Rajnath or a tribal President and woman .... guessing games .... well prediction comes true. So, Modi listens to 'people's and admirers' voice..... Is that so?
great decision by #BJP @PMOIndia and #NDA....announces #DraupadiMurmu’s name as Presidential candidate #Tribal #woman ..... truly a great move #ModiHaiToMumkinHai

To throw Ms Murmu's name as one of the probable ones for presidentship in 2022.... was no rocket science. In fact, her name was doing the rounds in 2012 and PM Modi and BJP and NDA leadership have done the right thing in naming her as the presidential candidate.

Murmu would certainly make a fantastic president, much better than Prathiba Patil, India's first woman President - but the lady from Maharashtra had come from Maharashtra Congress with the 'legacy' of loyalist to the power that be and also some 'baggage' !

Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal chief Naveen Patnaik said he is sure that Ms Murmu "will set a shining example for women empowerment in the country."

"I was delighted when Hon'ble PM @narendramodi ji discussed this with me. It is indeed a proud moment for people of Odisha," Mr Patnaik said in a tweet while congratulating Ms Murmu on her candidature.

Ms Murmu, a Santhal, was the first woman to be sworn in as the Jharkhand Governor in 2015. A two-time BJP legislator from Odisha, Ms Murmu was a minister in the Naveen Patnaik cabinet when the Biju Janata Dal or BJD shared power with the support of the BJP.

She started her political career as a councilor, later becoming the Vice-Chairperson of Rairangpur National Advisory Council or NAC.

In 2013, she rose to the rank of national executive member of the BJP's Scheduled Tribe Morcha  in Odisha. Her elevation is ye again a recognition of a BJP's faceless karyakarta.
