*INDIAN ARMY AND ASSAM RIFLES RESCUE 300 CIVILIANS ON THE FOURTH DAY OF FLOOD RELIEF OPERATION JALRAHAT-II*

On the fourth consecutive day of Operation JALRAHAT-II, Assam Rifles continued its relentless flood relief efforts across the Imphal Valley, extricating 300 civilians from the severely affected areas of Soibam Leikai, Porompat and Wankhei.

Despite challenging weather and submerged terrain, the force remained steadfast in reaching inaccessible locations to evacuate stranded residents.

The rescue teams focused on high risk households, prioritising the evacuation of the elderly, children and those requiring urgent medical assistance.

Swift coordination with local authorities ensured timely response and safe relocation of all rescued civilians to temporary relief camps and higher ground.

In addition to rescue operations, Assam Rifles continued to support humanitarian needs by distributing essential supplies including food, more than 800 bottles of drinking water, mosquito repellents and first aid. The teams also assisted in sanitation efforts to mitigate the spread of waterborne diseases.

The ongoing operation underscores the commitment of Assam Rifles in protecting lives and supporting the community during times of natural disaster. As water levels remain critical in certain parts of the valley, the force continues to maintain high readiness and presence on the ground in this hour of crisis.
