Rahul gets "irresponsible" tag from Nirmala Sitharaman ::: Was tortured to name RSS chief Bhagwat, Modi and Yogi : Pragya Thakur's big claim after Malegaon verdict ::: "...Malegaon case was conspiracy to defame the saffron (Bhagwa) and the armed forces"

Close on the heels of a special NIA court order acquitting Pragya Thakur in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, the former Bhopal MP made a stunning claim, alleging that she was "forced and tortured (by Maharashtra ATS under Congress) to take the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and others".

"I have given everything in writing and named all those whom I was forced to name. They kept saying, ‘Name these people then we won’t beat you.’ Their main aim was to torture me," she said.

Lashing out at the then Congress-led government at the Centre, Pragya Thakur alleged that the party was behind the "false case" as part of a larger "conspiracy" to "defame the saffron (Bhagwa) and the armed forces."

She alleged that the Congress was behind the "false case" as part of a larger "conspiracy" to "defame the saffron (Bhagwa) and the armed forces".

Saying it was a victory of dharma, Pragya said, "The Congress filed this false case as part of their conspiracy. It had no basis. Congress is anti-religion. It is a party that feeds terrorists. Congress can never become a nationalist party."

Seventeen years after a powerful blast rocked Malegaon in Maharashtra, the special NIA court acquitted all seven accused, including Thakur and Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, on Thursday.

A former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officer Mehboob Mujawar told 'India Today TV' that Investigating Officer Param Bir Singh had ordered him to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in a bid to push the 'saffron terror' narrative.

"I was directed by Param Bir Singh, and those above him asked me to arrest these individuals -- Ram Kalsangra, Sandip Dange, Dilip Patidar, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. It was beyond my capacity to arrest someone like Mohan Bhagwat, who holds significant influence in Maharashtra," the officer said.

Late Arun Jaitley's son Rohan Jaitley counters Rahul Gandhi

"Rahul Gandhi now claims my late father, Arun Jaitley, threatened him over the farm laws. Let me remind him that my father passed away in 2019. The farm laws were introduced in 2020. More importantly, it was not in my father's nature to threaten anyone over an opposing view. He was a staunch democrat and always believed in building consensus," Rohan Jaitley said.

He was responding to Rahul Gandhi's claims that the former Finance Minister under PM Modi had threatened him and put pressure to accept farm laws.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman termed Rahul's conduct "irresponsible".

“If irresponsibility has a face, it is Rahul Gandhi. To throw baseless allegations at people in public life, even those no longer with us, is becoming a personality trait in him,” Sitharaman said,

The BJP’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya posted a timeline of events, stating that the farm bill drafts were introduced to the Union cabinet in June 2020 and enacted in September 2020, a year after Arun Jaitley’s death on August 24, 2019.

India on way to 3rd biggest economy: PM Modi after Trump's 'dead economy' remark

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday made a strong pitch for 'swadeshi' products and reaffirmed the resilience of the Indian economy amid global economic turbulence.

“There is an atmosphere of global instability. All countries are focusing on their individual interests. India is going to become the third biggest economy in the world and that is why India will have to stay alert as far as its economic interests are concerned,” PM Modi said at a rally in Varanasi.

“Our government is doing everything it can in the best interest of the country... Those who want the best for the country and want to see India as the third biggest economy in the world, be it any political party, should leave their differences aside and instill a resolution for 'swadeshi' products”.

He said the country is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, amid global economic turbulence triggered by tariff hikes announced by Donald Trump.

The Prime Minister stressed that India must remain vigilant.
