'The Kerala Story' - film based on Love Jihad - bags national awards for Best Director for Sudipto Sen and Best Cinematography for Prasanthanu Mohapatra
Rani Mukherjee bags prestigious National award for best actress for her role in
-- 'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway'.
Shahrukh Khan has to share the honour with Vikram Massey
'The Kerala Story' bagged the coveted awards for Best Director for Sudipto Sen and Best Cinematography for Prasanthanu Mohapatra at the 71st National Film Awards.
The film on Love Jihad weaved around a plot detailing the alleged 'religious conversion' of women in Kerala and recruiting them for terrorist outfit ISIS.
The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting made the announcement to this effect on Friday.
The communists and the Sickular establishment were never comfortable with the film or such plots.
"By honouring a film that spreads blatant misinformation with the clear intent of tarnishing Kerala’s image and sowing seeds of communal hatred, the jury of the #NationalFilmAwards has lent legitimacy to a narrative rooted in the divisive ideology of the Sangh Parivar," Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan wrote in a post on X.
Congress MP from Kerala's Alappuzha, KC Venugopal, echoed Vijayan's views about the honour the movie was bestowed upon and said that since it took forward "a rotten agenda", it must be "discarded to a dustbin", claiming it maligns the state and its culture.
The Kerala Story created ripples across the political spectrum in 2023 as it claimed cases of "Love Jihad" (religious conversion) were rampant in the state and women were being sent to countries like Iraq and Syria to join ISIS.
Vikrant Massey and Shah Rukh Khan have been awarded Best Actor for their critically acclaimed performances in '12th Fail' and 'Jawan' respectively.
Rani Mukerji has been named Best Actress for her powerful role in 'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway'.
Directed by veteran filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, '12th Fail' is a biographical drama based on the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who rose from poverty to become an IPS officer. Vikrant Massey’s portrayal of Sharma earned widespread acclaim and now, a prestigious National Film Award.
The film also features Medha Shankar in a key role.
'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway', starring Rani Mukerji, is a 2023 Hindi film based on the real story of Sagarika Chakraborty, whose children were taken away by Norway's child welfare services due to cultural differences like hand-feeding and sleeping with kids.
Rani plays Debika, a strong Bengali mother who bravely fights the system that sees her Indian parenting style as wrong. Her powerful performance was praised by critics and also won her a 'Filmfare Critics Award'.
New Delhi relishes "strategic success" :::: Zomi Revolutionary Army gives in to persuasion and closes key camp along Myanmar border
This is being seen as a strategic success in terms of works from New Delhi vis-a-vis its handling of armed groups in northeast.
One can say Zomi Revolutionary Army has buckled under pressure from the Govt of Indiaand importantly it has been achieved by back channel talks and no use of forces or without any use of violence as a tool.
"The Zomi Re-Unification Organisation Cabinet Meeting dated August 1, 2025 minutely reconsidered its previous stands pertaining to ZRA, ZDV and ZRF designated Camps and deliberately discussed the issue.
After prolong discussion and deliberation, the ZRO Cabinet unanimously resolved to close one of the three designated camps viz. Mt.Sinai Camp, Songtal," says a statement from ZRO signed by its vice president Kenneth Muan.
"Moreover, it is learnt from reliable source that top Govt. Official mentioned that Mt.Sinai Camp has been already noted," says the statement.
From New Delhi's point of view, this development was necessary to ensure peace and tranquility along the international border. The camp was located within 20 km of International Border.
"It was used for illegal cross border activities including training and shelter to Zomi Revolutionary Army Eastern command in Myanmar.
Much importantly, these areas will now be dominated by Assam Riflles.
It is learnt that the ZRO was apprehensive of being "excluded" from Suspension of Operations (SoO) for refusing to close down the designated camp. The Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement in Manipur is a tripartite ceasefire agreement signed in August 2008 between the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and 25 Kuki militant organizations.
This agreement aimed to establish a ceasefire and pave the way for negotiations to address the underlying issues contributing to the insurgency in the state.
In 2024, on May 16, the Zo Reunification Organisation (ZORO), organised a unique public rally in Mizoram's Champhai district, bordering Myanmar, to protest the central government’s decision to fence the India-Myanmar border and suspend the Free Movement Regime (FMR).
ZORO is a pan-Zo integration group with the pledge to advocate for the merger of all areas in India, Myanmar and Bangladesh that are inhabited by kindred “Zofate” tribes. These include the Mizo of Northeast India’s Mizoram state, the multiple Chin tribes of western Myanmar’s Chin State, and Chin-Kuki tribes in eastern Bangladesh’s Chittagong Hill Tracts area.
In 1997, the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) was formed as the armed wing of the ZRO, primarily in Manipur.
The ZRA was established in response to ethnic tensions between the Thadou-Kuki people and the Paite people. The ZRA's goal was to defend Zomi unity in the Manipur hills. The ZRO's formation and the establishment of the ZRA are part of a broader movement towards Zo nationalism and the unification of the Zo people under a single identity.

"Even opposition party leaders have started to internally oppose Rahul Gandhi....," claims Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rijiju
On Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi's statements against the Election Commission, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju says, "This is not the first time Rahul Gandhi is threatening Constitutional organisations... This is a huge conspiracy to weaken democracy...
"This is a very dangerous behaviour and approach. The opposition is running a malicious plan to discredit constitutional organisations. It is an attack on democracy...
Even the opposition party leaders have started to internally oppose Rahul Gandhi... People have started saying Rahul is playing a dirty game and wants to destroy the country's image...", Rijiju said.
The Election Commission on Friday issued a sharp rebuttal to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s explosive allegations of large-scale voter fraud, calling his claims “baseless” and “irresponsible.”
Responding to Gandhi’s charges, the poll body said,
“The Election Commission ignores such baseless allegations being made every day and, despite the threats being given every day, it asks all election officials who are working in a fair and transparent manner to not pay heed to such irresponsible statements.”
Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, had earlier accused the ECI of being directly involved in vote theft.
Referring to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise conducted in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Commission's actions were aimed at benefiting the ruling BJP.
On opposition demanding a debate on SIR in the ongoing Parliament session, Rijiju said:
" I want to clarify that the government is ready to hold discussions on any issue as per rules. There cannot be a discussion on SIR because it is a process undertaken by a Constitutional body, and it is not happening for the first time...".
By Feb 2013 .... Congress strategists realised that 'anti-Hindu' politics has backfired ::: They tried to correct the image by two quick hanging ... SICKULARISM was still angry and furious
The fraudsters were furious. The Sickularism gang was unhappy.
By Feb 2013, the Congress got the message.
“The … hurry with which Afzal Guru was hanged, accompanied by the flouting of all established norms by not giving his family their legal right to meet him before taking him to the gallows, clearly indicates that there were political considerations behind this,” said a statement from PUCL.
Shashikumar Velath, programs director at Amnesty International India, even said it was time for the government to abolish the death penalty altogether.
Meenakshi Ganguly, South Asia director of Human Rights Watch, urged India to “end this distressing use of executions as a way to satisfy some public opinion.”
The voters punished Congress and UP in April-May polls in 2014 and the country was saved from the hands of conspirators. Business fell in some shops.
And some Sickular shops had to be closed permanently.
At the end of November 2012, Ajmal Kasab, the only survivor of the group from Pakistan responsible for the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, was hanged in the country's first execution since 2004.
Afzal Guru, a native of Jammu and Kashmir state, was convicted of helping five Islamic terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Tioba and Jaish-e-Mohammad groups to attack parliament on December 1, 2001.
Security forces shot dead all five of the gunmen after they claimed the lives of 12 people, including civilians, prompting Hindu groups to make outspoken public calls for the death penalty.
The then chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdulla (n 2013) broke with his ruling UPA coalition allies and said:
“Generations of Kashmiris will identify with Afzal Guru”.
In a televised interview. he said “You [the UPA government] will have to prove to the world that the death penalty is not used selectively.”
Shashikumar Velath, programs director at Amnesty International India, said:
“We condemn the execution in the strongest possible terms. This very regrettably puts India in opposition to the global trend towards moving away from the death penalty".
For records:
The two most incriminating pieces of evidence against Afzal were a cellphone and a laptop confiscated at the time of arrest.
The arrest memos were signed by Bismillah, Geelani’s brother, in Delhi.
The seizure memos were signed by two men of the J&K Police.
During the trial it emerged the laptop contained the fake home-ministry passes, the fake identity cards that the terrorists used to access Parliament, and a Zee TV video clip of Parliament House.
Afzal had allegedly deleted all the information except the most incriminating bits, and he was speeding off to hand it over to Ghazi Baba, who the charge sheet described as the chief of operations.
The Supreme Court order said - “the incident (Parliament attack), which resulted in heavy casualties had shaken the entire nation, and the collective conscience of society will only be satisfied if capital punishment is awarded to the offender.”
"But now that Afzal Guru has been hanged, I hope our collective conscience has been satisfied. Or is our cup of blood still only half full?, " wrote Arundhati Roy in one her essays published in 'The Hindu'.

'Hindu terror' term was coined by Congress to 'counter and balance' the global concerns about Islamic Terror .... the timing and the style were more important
The BJP termed July 31, 2025 - the day the judgement was delivered on the 2008 Malegaon blasts as a historic day.
"Hindu atankavad ko desh ke upar jabran thopne ka jo Congress party ka sharyentra tha aaj dhara sahi ho gaya
(The great conspiracy hatched by Congress to impose the term 'Hindu terror' on the country has been defeated today" - said BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad)
The 'Hindu terror' term was coined by Congress to 'balance' the global concerns about Islamic Terror .... the timing and the style were more important.
There were efforts at multiple front to justify Islamic radicalism. In 2009, the Manmohan Singh unhesitatingly agreed with Pakistan to equate India with Pakistan as 'co victims' of terror.
The cornered PM Manmohan Singh later called it a 'bad draft'. And the NSA of UPA era also justified not to act or wage any war against Pakistan post 2008 Mumbai attack as a smart move which could give more benefits than by 'attacking' Pakistan.
"There is no let up in the attempts to radicalise young men and women in India. There has been a recent uncovered phenomenon of saffron terrorism that has been implicated in many bomb blasts in the past. My advice to you is that we must remain ever vigilant and continue to build, at both Central and state level, our capacities in counter-terrorism," Home Minister P Chidambaram told the top police and intelligence officials in August 2010.
Between 2006 and 2010, the erstwhile UPA dispensation tried to implicate
three Hindus organisations -- Abhinav Bharat, Rashtriya Jagran Manch and Sanatan Sanstha with terror.
(Theories and allegations circulated were )
Five people, allegedly linked to Hindutva outfits, were named in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast case.
Accused in the Ajmer Sharif Dargah blast, Ramji Kalsangra was allgedly a former RSS pracharak.
The 2008 Malegaon blasts threw up names of two masterminds - a serving army Lieutenant Colonel Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, both linked to the Abhinav Bharat
Goa blast in 2009 was blamed on Sanatan Sanstha, a group the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) wanted banned.
In 2012, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said : "I have been saying this since 2002, when some VHP people were arrested in a case of a bomb being thrown at a temple in Mhow cantonment area in MP. And the MP police investigated and arrested four people out of six and they themselves accepted the fact that they were making bombs at a certain place."
Guess the interviewer --- Karan .... etc etc (champion of Sickularism)
Digvijaya Singh also said:
"Sunil Joshi's murder case is another example where the Madhya Pradesh police has closed the case, then we raised this issue with the government of India and when the ATS Rajasthan caught the people involved in the Samjhauta Express blasts
....and then they realised that the heat is on then the Madhya Pradesh police which had closed the case of Sunil Joshi reopened the case and arrested few people."
In 2013, a few months months after the UN and US announced sanctions against the LeT and Qasmani, Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Mallik himself admitted that Pakistani terrorists were involved in the Samjhauta blast.
But he got a rider from India and hence he added: “... some Pakistan-based Islamists had been hired by Lt Col Purohit to carry out the Samjhauta Express attack.”
Lt Col Purohit is also exonerated in the July 31, 2025 judgement.
The explosion on September 29, 2008, came during the month of Ramzan, striking a Muslim-majority town.
The Maharashtra ATS, led by Hemant Karkare, traced the motorcycle used in the attack to Pragya Singh Thakur. The bike’s registration number was fake, its chassis and engine numbers filed off, but forensic labs restored the erased identity and linked it back to her.
Soon, Pragya, Lieutenant Colonel Purohit, and several others tied to the obscure organisation Abhinav Bharat were arrested.
The ATS claimed the group conspired to target Muslims, charging them under the IPC, UAPA, and the stringent MCOCA. In its massive 4,000-page chargesheet, the ATS portrayed Abhinav Bharat as an organised crime syndicate.

"Hindutva followers and Sanatanis can never be extremists" :::: Conspiracy of Malegaon blast 'exposed' ::::: Lessons .... "Layer by layer, this conspiracy is coming to light..."
The allegation of Hindu terror now lie buried - claims BJP
"Today I proudly declare to the world and the people of the country that a Hindu can never be a terrorist. Hindus can never be terrorists,"
-- Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha
((Not just in India, the linking of Terrorism with Hindutva taken overseas by Congress with sinister plans.
Rahul Gandhi himself led the campaign with top foreign dignitaries
In 2010, WikiLeaks made public a secret communication to Washington by then US Ambassador to India Timothy Roemer
on his-- July 20, 2009, conversation with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. ))

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis says, "The conspiracy of 2008 has been exposed before everyone. The government at that time, for the sake of vote-bank politics, coined terms like 'Hindu terror' and 'saffron terrorism.'
At that time, large-scale terrorist incidents were happening across the world, and 'Islamic terrorism' was a topic of discussion worldwide.
To avoid angering their votebank and to make it seem like they were maintaining balance, they created the notion of 'Hindu terrorism' and arrested people... But despite much effort, no solid evidence was found... Layer by layer, this conspiracy is coming to light...".
The case was initially handled by Maharashtra's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) before being transferred to India's premier counter-terror agency, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), in 2011.
The politically important case was one of the first major instances where right-wing Hindu nationalist groups were directly accused of militant activity.
Over the years, the case saw several twists and turns. More than 300 witnesses were examined during the trial, with at least 34 later turning hostile.
In 2016, NIA filed a chargesheet and said they could not find sufficient evidence against Thakur and three others. It recommended dropping charges against them.
Various stages of Saffron terror under Congress and UPA !!
By 2010, the UPA Govt gave it an official nod with no less India's Home Minister and a Sonia Gandhi loyalist P Chidambaram telling intelligence officers in New Delhi that "saffron terror" was a phenomenon that had been implicated in several bombings.
In Jan 2013, Congress elevated Rahul Gandhi as the party's vice president. Congress played multiple games. There was lot of crying episodes. Renuka Chowdhury was one of them.
In a closed door meet, Sonia told Rahul Gandhi - "power is poison".
Chidambaram's successor Sushilkumar Shinde also sharpened the charge at a Congress conclave in Jaipur and declared: "the RSS and BJP are running terror training camps".
He also accused Hindu organisations of "spreading terrorism" — a statement that sparked a political firestorm. The BJP later threatened boycott of parliament proceedings. As a damage control exercise, the Congress later said it did not approve the term 'saffron terror' because the saffron colour is in India's national flag and also in Congress party's flag.
Ambassador Roemer detailed how Rahul Gandhi told him that "radicalised Hindu groups" were a bigger danger than Islamist terrorist groups like the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Even UPA-era government officials discussed the issue of "Hindutva terror" with top American officials.
Just months before Rahul's discussion with Roemer, India's then National Security Adviser (NSA), MK Narayanan, on March 3, 2009, spoke about "Hindu extremist groups" with FBI director Robert Mueller.
This was revealed by Wikileaks from a leaked US cable filed by US charge d' affairs Steven White on the Narayanan-Mueller meeting.
The matter was raised shortly after the Maharashtra ATS arrested several persons with saffron links for their role in the 2008 Malegaon blast, WikiLeaks revealed.
"India is also seeing the beginnings of Hindu extremist groups that use violence, Narayanan said, agreeing with the director's point that terrorists came from more than just Muslim backgrounds," according to the leaked US cable from 2009.

BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb says, "...Hindutva and Sanatanis can never be extremist terrorists... During the Malegaon blast, Congress tried to defame India's culture, but the court gave a fitting response. They are still sitting there. They should apologise to the people of the country..."
