"Gandiv has been picked up" ..... Unthinkable has happened : Modi throws a bit personal and largely a global "challenge" to Trump : PM says he wants to stand "like a wall" before anyone who want to harm Indian farmers and fishermen

Gloves are off and have been thrown far away !!

He has turned the disadvantages and the Trumpism-challenge into a neo opportunity.

Namo has taken the ball back to the spacious court of President Donad Trump.

"Modi will stand like a wall against any policy that will threaten our farmers and fishermen....India will never compromise when it comes to protecting their interests". -- Prime Minister said in his Independence Day speech.

Donald Trump will be furious but may feel frustrated too. Indian PM has spoken about him and his whims and fancies and not about a country such as Pakistan -- for whom he has developed a sudden love.

A modest damage control exercise by the Secretary of State Rubio that India and the US 'have shared" legacies did not dampen or stall Modi speak out his mind.

Such speeches are made rarely.

And such speeches directed against the President of America - is never made. But Namo has the spirit.

His Moditva phenomenon is essentially that !!

To use a Hindu mythical reference one could say -- Modi has picked up the 'Gandiv (the chief weapon) of victorious Arjun in Mahabharat)

Like a 'wall' (deewar) against Trumpian wishes -- Narendra Modi wants to stand tall.

It's a war. Gloves have been thrown out and thrown away as far as the battle of 'tariffs' go.

Modi used a third person reference for himself and made it absolutely clear:

"Modi is standing like a wall in front of any policy against the interest of our farmers, fishermen, cattle rearers of India...".

"Being dependent on other countries is a recipe for disaster. We must be self-reliant to safeguard our interests" -- the Prime Minister said.

The fact of the matter is the US administration under Republican Trump is demand 'access' to the vast agrarian markets of India.

Products in dispute are - soyabean. ethanol and dairy products. The US wants to exports these to India.

This is a strictest of 'red lines' Trump has faced.

In fact, the argument goes that Japan, European Union and Korea also had trade-tariff issues with the US. But they all succumbed. Having tasted blood, Donald Trump tried the same game with New Delhi.

But here he is faced with Moditva and the leadership that was once denied visa by the Americans.  The Prime Minister  has also spoken about 'chautarfa suraksha kawach' (four-sided special security ring).

This was another major point in his 102 minutes-long speech.

Modi has kept a special target of 2035 -- by when in all probability he will have to move out of the position he is in today.

Modi has also taken a cultural-religious line. In other words, he is playing back to his Hindutva-smitten galleries.

That's always a lethal combo for the catalyst of change and development.

But he is also suggesting that anyone threatening India's basic faith - that is Hinduism - will not be spared. This is perhaps specific to Pakistan and its Jhadi-terror battle-cry.

Even at Pahalgam, terrorists came shouting 'are you a Hindu' and then shot dead the tourists.

PM's elaborate and detailed reference to 'illegal infiltration' is a big take away. No Prime Minister ever has said such a thing. Moreover, the announcement of a Demography Commission has come on an important day like the Independence Day.

This is a shake up and proves emphatically he remains unfazed by Rahul Gandhi's 'vote chori' or anti-electoral revision.

So that's also is a pledge and it will rattle not only anti-BJP forces in India. But in the eastern front, Modi has given away a firm and a very assertive message to Bangladesh.

Modi was especially categorical -- to build a truly self-reliant Bharat/India - the country will have to achieve

Energy Independence !!

"We have to be self reliant in critical minerals...."

From exploring space and deep seas to missiles and drones -- Modi has set a target for the nation.

Nothing can be more apt as within just two years - India will turn 80 as a modern, post-colonial independent nation.
