'New Task Force to push Reforms' ::::: Big message to US and Trump :::: "Modi is standing like a wall in front of any policy against the interest of our farmers, fishermen" - Prime Minister in I-Day speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, "Bharat ke kisan, machuware, pashupalak se judi kisi bhi ahitkaari neeti ke aage Modi deewar banke khada hai..."

"Modi is standing like a wall in front of any policy against the interest of our farmers, fishermen, cattle rearers of India...".

"Being dependent on other countries is a recipe for disaster. We must be self-reliant to safeguard our interests."

On India's 79th I-Day, Modi surpassed Indira Gandhi’s record with his 12th consecutive Red Fort address,

standing second only to Jawaharlal Nehru’s 17 in a row

'103 minutes at Red Fort':

Namo breaks his own record for longest Independence Day address

Last year Modi addressed from ramparts of Red Fort for 98 minutes

Manmohan Singh's speeches in 2012 and 2013 lasted only 32 and 35 minutes, respectively.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee's speeches in 2002 and 2003 were even shorter at 25 and 30 minutes.

The Prime Minister asserted that the government would never compromise on the interests of its farmers as they made the country "self-sufficient" - a subtle message directed at US President Donald Trump amid a stalemate over a trade deal.

"It was a challenge to ensure food for everyone post-independence, but our farmers made us self-sufficient... Modi stands like a wall, won't compromise on farmers," the Prime Minister said in his 12th consecutive Independence Day speech on Friday.

Targets Congress for Emergency

"Fifty  years ago, India’s Constitution was strangled and backstabbed; the country was turned into a jail. Emergency was imposed. It has been 50 years of Emergency. No generation in the country should forget this sin of murdering Constitution. They should not forget the sinners who murdered Constitution. We should go ahead by further strengthening our dedication to the Constitution of India. That is our inspiration."

From the ramparts of Red Fort PM said:

“We have decided to constitute a task force for next-generation reforms.

This task force will work within a set timeframe to align existing laws with the needs of the 21st century and prepare the nation to become 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.”

The Prime Minister said:

"I say this with great experience.

Kisi doosre ki lakeer chhoti karne ke liye, apni oorja hamein nahi khapani hai.

Hamein poori oorja ke saath hamari lakeer ko lamba karna hai.

(If we do that, the world will admit our strength. Today, when economic selfishness is rising day by day in the global situation, it is the need of the hour that we don't sit crying over those crises.

Himmat ke saath apni lakeer ko lambi karein...If we take that path, no selfishness will not able to entangle us."

"... Hum bahot tezi se aage badhna chahte haen.

Main yeh desh ke liye kar raha hoon, mere liye nahi kar raha hoon. Kisi ka bura karne ke liye nahi kar raha hoon..."

He says, "Over the past decade, India has been reforming, performing, and transforming.

But now, we need to move forward with even greater strength.

In recent years, we have implemented several reforms including FDI, insurance sector, or allowing world-class universities to operate in India...".

"Regions earlier known for naxalism now producing world-class athletes"

"I salute dedication of RSS volunteers in serving nation over past 100 years...

India is proud of RSS' 100 years of dedication towards country, it is biggest NGO in world"

"Areas earlier known as 'red corridors' of Naxalism have now become green corridors of development".

The Prime Minister said:

"We celebrate our diversity, it is our heritage. We witnessed this beautifully during the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, where the spirit of unity in diversity truly comes alive. India is rich in linguistic diversity, and to honor that, we have granted classical language status to Marathi, Assamese, Bangla, Pali, and Prakrit...".

"Today, I would like to proudly mention that 100 years ago, an organisation was born - Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). 100 years of service to the nation is a proud, golden chapter. With the resolve of 'vyakti nirman se rashtra nirman', with the aim of welfare of Maa Bharati, swayamsevaks dedicated their lives to the welfare of our motherland...

In a way, RSS is the biggest NGO of the world. It has a history of 100 years of dedication..."

"We aim to bring the development in eastern India at par with the development in rest of India... We approved thousands of crores for infra projects there."
