Punjab preacher Bajinder Singh, who claims to miraculously heal people, was convicted of sexual misconduct and rape last week.

Bajinder, who has been endorsed by several celebrities, draws thousands to his gatherings where he claims to miraculously heal people of HIV, muteness, etc. 

He posts these videos of his YouTube channel.

After eight years of trial, controversial Punjab preacher Bajinder Singh was handed a life term by a Mohali court on Tuesday (April 1, 2025) in a 2018 rape case. Bajinder, who claims to miraculously heal people, was convicted of sexual misconduct and rape last week.

After he was pronounced guilty, Bajinder was arrested and taken to Patiala jail. The case dates back to 2018, when a woman claimed that Bajinder, on the pretext of helping her in settling abroad, lured her to his residence in Mohali and raped her.  

The complainant also alleged that the pastor recorded the act. She also claimed that Bajinder demanded a huge sum of money, failing which he would make the obscene videos public.  An FIR was registered against Bajinder, and he was arrested at Delhi airport in 2018. He was later released on bail.

Bajinder, who gained fame for his viral 'Yashu Yashu' videos, is also facing another sexual harassment case based on a complaint by a 22-year-old woman.

Earlier in February, another FIR was registered against Bajinder after a complaint was filed by a woman alleging assault on her.

The preacher, who runs two churches in Jalandhar and another in Mohali, enjoys huge popularity on social media, having 3.12 million subscribers on YouTube and 1.1 million followers on Instagram.

Bajinder, born into a Jat family in Haryana, converted to Christianity during his prison time in a murder case. Over the years, he has built a loyal army of followers from across the northern states.
