Take note of Mamata's remarks on teachers' jobs: BJP MP to Chief Justice of India :::: Trinamool red-faced as BJP shares leaked videos, WhatsApp chats of 'dirty linen'

Take note of Mamata Banerjee's remarks on teachers' jobs: BJP MP to Chief Justice

BJP MP Jyotirmoy Singh Mahato wrote to Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna, saying West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's statements following the Supreme Court's order cancelling 25,752 jobs of teachers set a "dangerous precedent of judicial anarchy".

"Instead of upholding the verdict of the Supreme Court, the Chief Minister chose to criticise the judiciary in a press conference held at the state secretariat, flanked by senior IAS officers. The visuals of this address, where the judiciary and even the Supreme Court's intent were questioned, have shaken public confidence in constitutional governance," he said.

"What has followed since this landmark judgment is deeply disturbing and concerning. The reaction of Mamata Banerjee, under whose regime this scam was orchestrated, has been nothing short of alarming," he wrote.

The BJP MP alleged that if the Chief Minister and her government can repeatedly and publicly target the highest court of the land, it "emboldened a dangerous precedent of judicial anarchy".

Trinamool red-faced as BJP shares leaked videos, WhatsApp chats of 'dirty linen'

On a video shared by BJP leader Amit Malviya of alleged 'public spat' between TMC MPs,

Senior party leader Saugata Roy says, "The WhatsApp chats of the party being leaked is unfortunate. The language used by Kalyan Banerjee is unfortunate. I hope that the party leadership will take cognizance of the matter.

"Many of our party members wanted to complain to Mamata Banerjee, but whether they did or not, I don't know. Kalyan Banerjee misbehaved with a lady MP, she protested and revolted and then all the MPs went against Kalyan Banerjee...".

BJP's IT cell incharge Amit Malviya posted clips and WhatsApp chats, claiming they reveal what transpired after a heated argument between senior Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee and another unidentified party lawmaker.  Kalyan Banerjee involved in verbal spat with another party MP on April 4, 2025.

Mamata Banerjee allegedly stepped in to resolve the issue

Bitter feuding within the Trinamool Congress spilled into the public domain on Tuesday after the BJP shared a leaked video and screenshots of a fiery exchange among prominent lawmakers of the Mamata Banerjee-led party.

BJP’s IT cell incharge Amit Malviya posted a video on X claiming it shows what transpired after a heated argument between senior Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee and another unidentified party lawmaker. According to Malviya, the incident took place on April 4 at the Election Commission of India headquarters, where the Trinamool delegation had gone to submit a representation.

The BJP leader claimed that this triggered the confrontation, which got so heated that one MP had to ask police personnel to intervene.

In the video, Kalyan Banerjee is heard verbally lashing out at the other lawmaker, while another voice — purportedly that of Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien — tries to defuse the situation.

Kalyan Banerjee says, "They are so unruly," and, "Saying will get me arrested..."

The voice believed to be O’Brien’s is heard saying, "We are in a public space brother, I’m pleading with you." Another person is heard warning Kalyan Banerjee: "This will get leaked in the media," to which he responds, "Let it be, I want it to be out in the media."

Beginning of bigger problems

Kalyan Banerjee also asserts, "But I will not allow to do any illegal work."

As the video shared by the BJP started doing the rounds, Trinamool MP Saugata Roy tacitly admitted that the other party in the spat was the party's firebrand leader Mahua Moitra. He slammed Kalyan's Banerjee's "intemperate behaviour" and called it unacceptable.

"Personally, I don’t feel internal matters should be leaked. It hurts our workers and it is undignified," Roy said at a press conference.

Although Roy wasn't present when the argument took place, he stated, "I saw Mahua was crying in Parliament... She was going to complain about Kalyan’s behaviour."

The senior Trinamool leader claimed there was deep resentment among party members over Kalyan Banerjee's conduct and called for him to be removed as Chief Whip in the Lok Sabha.

Saugata Roy also said: "Since Kirti Azad, Durgapur MP, was vocal in suppoting Mahua Moitra that's why Kalyan Banerjee showed his anger.

To another question in reference to Kalyan Banerjee saying something against Kirti Azad, the senior leader Roy said:

"... This is a third class comment. Kirti Azad is a national level cricketer, he was taken in by Mamata Banerjee after he had left the BJP. He won on his own steam..This is very wrong; after this who will come into the party".

LEAKED CHATS, MAMATA BANERJEE STEPS IN

Amit Malviya claimed the alleged shouting match prompted West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee to intervene, instructing both MPs to stand down.

He also shared screenshots allegedly from a WhatsApp group titled ‘AITC MP ....,’ which he said show the argument spilling over into messages between Trinamool MPs. In the purported leaked chats, Kalyan Banerjee takes a dig at a “versatile international lady” before hitting out at Lok Sabha MP Kirti Azad.
