"Forced recruitment and non payment of extortion by villages are likely reason for abduction" in Konyak region of Nagaland .... bordering Myanmar
An armed Group of Naga militant/cardres of a particular group led by a 'self-styled' Brigadier allegedly abducted 15-16 youths from Longwa and Wamsa villages in Mon district on December 27th night.
It is now being feared that these youths have been taken across the border in Myanmar, local sources told this journalist over phone adding that two youths had reportedly able to 'escape'.
About 10 young men have been taken away from Wamsa village and six/five from Longwa.
An unconfirmed report said in total at least 20 Naga youths from Indian side have been abducted.

There was no confirmation about the abduction from any authoritative channel with the refrain being -
"Things are premature... we will get back to you".
However, sources say the abductors and the kidnapped youths reportedly now camping at Chen Chingren village in Myanmar.
A local source on the condition of anonymity said a group of village elders met Longwa a "group of villagers" from Longwa have crossed over into Myanmar before noon to try to ensure release of the abducted youths.
Though there was no confirmation "forced recruitment" is said to be one reason for such abduction.
Another reason could be extortion demand.
