(Some portion of the speech Translated casually by blogger)
Respected chairman,
It is a fashion these days to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar ....If you all had taken God"s name... May be in seven lives you would have found God...This is a God thing .... Suniye toh (Listen to me) amid obstructions from opposition. "We feel happy that you are taking Ambedkar's name....take his name 100 times more
... But along with that what is your real attitude towards Ambedkar ji I will apprise now.Why did Ambedkar ji had to resign from the country's first cabinet?
Ambedkar ji had said many times that he was not pleased with the manner SC and ST people were being treated.
He had disagreement with Govt's indifference. He had differences with the then Govt on Article 370.
Therefore, he wanted to quit .... He was given an assurance...and as those assurance were not kept,he reigned.
B C Roy had written a letter (to Nehru) that two important members of the cabinet had resigned --- Rajaji and Dr Ambedkar... Nehru had replied - "while it would be a setback for the cabinet for having to see Rajaji (Raja Gopalachari) step down; ..
there would be no impact or the council of ministers would not be weakened with the exit of Ambedkar."
((The BJP members raise slogan - Shame, Shame ))
Note:
At Nehru's invitation, in 1950, Rajagopalachari joined the Union Cabinet as Minister without Portfolio and served as a buffer between Nehru and Home Minister Sardar Patel and on occasion offered to mediate between the two.
Following Patel's death on 15 December 1950, Rajagopalachari was finally made Home Affairs Minister and went on to serve for nearly 10 months
While Nehru perceived the Hindu Mahasabha to be the greatest threat to the nascent republic, Rajagopalachari held the opinion that the Communists posed the greatest danger.
He also adamantly opposed Nehru's decision to commute the death sentences passed on those involved in the Telangana uprising and his strong pro-Soviet leanings.
Tired of being persistently over-ruled by Nehru concerning critical decisions, Rajagopalachari submitted his resignation on the "grounds of ill-health" and returned to Madras.

(Amit Shah's speech ... continues...)
"This is what they (Congress) thought, Sir... Kharge ji had asked what is our objection ...The person you oppose so much but today you are taking his (Ambedkar's) name for votes. Is it justified ? (Kitna yeh uchit hai)
Just because today Ambedkar followers and admirers are in big numbers that's why you keep chanting Ambedkar ... Ambedkar.
(during the Gandhi-Jinnah talks, 1944, Gandhi ji described Raja ji as "keeper of my conscience" )
Sir, Bombay Mayor had written a letter requesting that there should be a memorial in honour of Ambedkar ji in Mhow (near Indore in Madhya Pradesh) ... Ambedkar ji was born there .... There was a reply(from Nehru) ... he had said: "generally memorials should be constructed with their own interest and initiatives, if Govt provides any kind of help then it will not be proper".
Now tell me how many memorials are there for Nehru ? There was no memorial for Ambedkar ji in the entire country...
The memorials came only when BJP came to power. (Thumping of desks by treasury bench)
"In Mhow, there we built a memorial in his birthplace. In London - also there came one where he used to study. In Nagpur ... also and also in Delhi...And in Mumbai, one more is coming up in Chait Bhoomi
We have set up five pilgrim centres sir.
I also agree not to follow Ambedkar ji's ideals and just take his name for votes (is not proper)

"By the way why are you forgetting Mayawati's over the top expenditure in creating a memorial for Dr. Ambedkar in Lucknow🤷🏿♂️
ReplyDeleteI know Congress did not do anything anywhere in the country.
[I have been to that memorial. Italian marble flooring around Ambedkar's statue in a huge open ground close to Gomti river. --- Karm Kumar Patil, Maharashtra
