New Delhi/Agartala
Giving a major momentum to its election campaign in poll-bound Tripura, the BJP has stepped

traditional differences.

zero,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressing a rally at Kailasahar in Unakoti district.
“The CPI(M) used to claim itself as the saviour of the poor but they are the ones who exploited the poor
people for years. They did nothing for the poor," Singh said.
He said the BJP brought development to the state, which had poor infrastructure during the CPI(M)’s rule.
“Now, electricity, water connections and roads are available as the BJP government is taking all possible steps
to speed up development." he said also maintained that the violence has “stopped” in Tripura as the
BJP does not believe in it.
"The CPI(M)-led government did not respect women, but during BJP rule, they are getting respect and
benefits,” the Defence Minister said.

the MUDRA scheme.
"Under the PM Gram Sadak Yojana, a total of 22,787 kms of rural roads has been built in the state of Tripura,
connecting 9,834 habitations at an expense of Rs 14,381 crores since 2018".
Releasing the report, Union Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal said during the Congress and Communist
regimes, Tripura was a 'deprived state'.
"But now, under the leadership and guidance of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the double engine
government of BJP has taken Tripura towards a prosperous, happy and developed destination. The Prime
Minister gave the mantra of HIRA for the development of North East," he said ii reference
to development of highways, internet, railways and airways.
Sonowal, a former Chief Minister of Assam, also said that in Tripura, the government under Marxists
meant deteriorated law and order, ranging from rapes, bandh, strikes, levy from employees and political killings.
But now the BJP government means connectivity, internet, hospitals and corruption -free and development
oriented dispensation.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address two rallies one each in West Tripura and South Tripura

The BJP has fielded candidates for 55 seats for the elections to the 60-member Assembly and the remaining five

"Bharat juda hua hae" - says Speaker : Congress standing on twin
pillars of corruption, alleges BJP
New Delhi
Lok Sabha debate on Motion of Thanks to President's address had all ingredients
to make the final outcome heated and humorous and as expected there were charges
and counter charges.
While BJP members and Union Ministers including Law Minister Kiren Rijiju repeatedly countered Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's "reckless allegations", a near classic moment was Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's remark, "Bharat juda hua hae, Chinta Na Karey (India is united; no one should worry about it".
The Speaker made the observation when Rahul Gandhi said - "Coming together is a beginning,
keeping together is progress and working together is success...". Of course certain other remarks
were expunged by the Speaker. Rahul Gandhi also had said that "India is a case study" on how
a businessman could show his expertise on so many fields.
Mr Om Birla also said, "...while some members are talking about his Yatra, others are talking
about something else. It will be good if members speak on the Presidential address".
Ending the three-day long logjam, the Lok Sabha on Tuesday took up the debate on Motion of
Thanks to President's address to the joint sitting of House on Jan 31.
During the debate, while Rahul Gandhi raised the row pertaining to business dealings of the Adani
group and involvement of PSUs, members and Ministers from the treasury bench repeatedly insisted
no wild allegations should be made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Law Minister Rijiju said former Congress president should desist from making baseless allegations.
Directing towards the Congress leader, Rijiju said, "Whatever you speak outside the House, we have nothing
to say. But whatever is said in the House must be spoken with responsibility....Rahul ji has has Prime Minister
(Narendra Modi) goes abroad on tour, the Prime Minister goes overseas for works".
BJP member from Patna Sahib, Ravi Shankar Prasad said what Rahul Gandhi has been stating
were "reckless allegations, baseless allegations in violation of the rules".
He also said under Rule 353 of the House, no allegation of a "defamatory or incriminatory nature shall be
made unless you have given notice".
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghawal also said, if some allegations are to be
made the member has to "authenticate".
Mr Prasad also spoke to reporters outside the House and said, the Congress party is based on the twin pillars of
corruption and protecting the corrupt.
"Corruption and giving protection to the corrupt have been the history of Rahul Gandhi and his family," Prasad said.
Prasad referred to the 'National Herald' case and the AgustaWestland scam and maintained,
"It's time to revive the memory of Rahul Gandhi on corruption".
The BJP member pointed put that Rahul Gandhi, his mother Sonia Gandhi and her son-in-law Robert
Vadra "are out on bail".
The BJP members during the debate took exception to Rahul's remarks, "How to use the power of the
Government to build individual businesses".
Another BJP MP, Nishikant Dubey, criticised Congress for its role in the Bofors scam and handling of Bhopal Gas tragedy. The Jharkhand MP also said that, any paper or a document to be laid on the House shall be duly authenticated. Dilip Ghosh, also a saffron party lawmaker from West Bengal, criticized the West Bengal government over alleged corruption in the implementation of Central government schemes in the state.
He targeted the State government for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
