Nitish Kumar will emerge as a new 'face of opposition'....good timing by him

Former Union Minister and Patna Sahib MP, Ravi Shankar Prasad, lashed out at Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar for breaking ties with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and BJP.

Prasad said, Nitish Kumar left the NDA accusing the BJP of trying to destroy his party. He said, BJP made him a union minister several times. He was also made a chief minister. Why did he rethink his decision on alliance with RJD in 2015 and come to the BJP in 2017, Ravi Sahankar Prasad asked.

In 2019, Ravi Shankar Prasad had won the Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency with a margin of 2,84,657 votes by defeating Shatrughan Sinha of Congress.

Prasad also recalled how Nitish  Kumar joined hands with the BJP when the latter was probing the fodder scam against RJD patriarch Lalu Yadav.

In 2012 ---- Nitish Kumar had said --- - "LK Advani is an elderly leader and expresses his views as per his wisdom. Advani is a very misunderstood leader. After Advani, I am the most misunderstood politician."

#Bihar development in #JD (U) suggests ......#NitishKumar wants to play big at the national level.

He knows the big vacuum in opposition camp for 2024. #Mamata's corruption and #ParthaChatterjee has harmed Trinamool's national image.

Aug 9 development may bring in unity of Janata Parivar if things are played up well !!

JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar on Tueday, Aug 9, called off the alliance between his party and and BJP in Bihar.

He resigned as the state's chief minister and met RJD leader and Lalu Praad Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav.

The Congress, too, is set to join the Mahagahbandhan.

Nitish Kumar's 'best friend' and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi dismissed JD(U)'s allegations that the BJP wanted to break the party and had made RCP Singh Union minister without Nitish Kumar's consent.

He further said JD(U) was looking for an excuse to break the ties with BJP.

"It is a white lie that BJP had made RCP Singh Union minister without Nitishji's consent. It is also a lie that BJP wanted to break JD(U)," Sushil Modi said in a tweet.

He was made Rajya Sabha member in 2020 after state elections as the BJP central leadership was unhappy with Sushil Modi's pro-Nitish Kumar statement to the media.

Interestingly, Naga leaders in BJP and outside are keeping a close watch on the Bihar developments.

"All these commotion just because Amit Shah and a few other leaders are taking decision without consulting important colleagues in BJP party. The BJP is also targeting opposition too much specially Gandhi family "and show no regard for democracy", remarked acidly one Naga leader.

A section of Naga leaders keen to join BJP were upset with Amit Shah's decision of allowing 40:20 seat share with the NDPP of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

Naga leaders say the BJP "lost a golden opportunity" to expand its base in the predominantly Christian state.
