Advani unfurls National Flag on I-Day ::: Modi woos tribals, says will fight Corruption, Nepotism !!

“Bless me, my 130 crore compatriots, I need your support. I have come today to seek your support so that I can wage this battle (against corruption).” - PM Modi

Sometimes, he was found wagging a finger perhaps in warning, sometimes clenching his fist as a mark of his 'determination'.

New Delhi

BJP patriarch L.K. Advani ji, former Deputy Prime Minister hoisted the National Flag on Independence Day (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) at his residence 30, Prithviraj Road, New Delhi on Monday.

In the photo, his daughter and other relatives and close associates are also seen.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, Aug 15, made use of the auspicious occasion to further woo the tribal community.

“When we speak of the freedom struggle, we can’t forget the tribal community,” said Modi from the ramparts of the Red Fort. “Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Sidhu-Kanhu, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Govind Guru — there are innumerable names who became the voice of India’s freedom struggle and inspired the tribal community to live and die for the motherland.”

Significantly, Modi mentioned Raju and the names of other tribal leaders alongside those of much-celebrated freedom fighters, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

This declaration by PM Modi came in a season when it is generally being stated that the BJP has made its tribal outreach programmes more aggressive.

The party had recently nominated Droupadi Murmu, a tribal woman, as its Presidential candidate.

Ms Murmu is now the 15th President of India — the first tribal and only the second woman to occupy the elevated post.

Notably, three northeastern states Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura with large tribal population go to the polls early next year.

The states of Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan also have significant tribal population. While Gujarat goes to the polls in December 2022, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan  and also Mizoram in north east will go to the polls in November-December 2023.

The four states in western and central India have a total of 128 assembly seats reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) — 27 in Gujarat, 25 in Rajasthan, 29 in Chhattisgarh and 47 in Madhya Pradesh.

The BJP has managed to win only 35 of these seats in the previous Assembly elections.

On war against Corruption

- "In a country like India where poor people continue to struggle. On one side we see people don't have place to stay, on the other hand some people don't have PLACE TO HIDE the money they have stolen. Such a situation is not good".

PM says --

It is our effort that those who have looted the country will have to pay back

(Modi's battle against corruption will come handy in countering Nitish Kumar as he has partnered corruption-tainted RJD)

#Modi #Namo mantra on #IndependenceDay2022 #IndiaAt75 ..

'Panchpran'- Five pledges .....

First, to move forward with bigger resolves

Second, erase all traces of servitude ...aping the west and past colonial masters. Third, be proud of legacy;

Fourth, strength of unity& Fifth, duties of citizens which includes the PM and CMs

“Corruption is hollowing the country out like termites. I want to wage a decisive battle against it, speed up the drive (against the corrupt), take it to a decisive juncture,” Modi said, sometimes wagging a finger in warning, sometimes clenching his fist as a mark of his determination.

PM Modi has many times in recent times directed his tirade against 'dynastic politics' and flagged off corruption as a chief socio-political problem and harmful for democracy, making it clear that this could be big campaign plank for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

“When I talk about bhai-bhatijavad, parivarvad (nepotism, dynastic politics), people feel I am doing politics. Not at all. Unfortunately, this evil in politics has helped foster nepotism in every field,” he said.

He said “parivarvad” had gripped every institution, causing the talented to be deprived and fostering corruption. He called for a “collective battle”.

“In politics, too, dynasty has done the most injustice to the country’s strength. Dynastic politics is only for the welfare of a family and has no interest in the country’s welfare,” he said.

“So, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, with pride in the Tricolour and while remembering the Constitution of the country, I call upon the people to come forward and rid politics and other institutions of nepotism.”

It is true parties such as Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the DMK, which rule Telangana and Tamil Nadu, the Rashtriya Janata Dal in Bihar and the Samajwadi Party - now main opposition - in Uttar Pradesh are outfits upholding dynastic politics.

Trinamul Congress in Bengal which has already faced the wrath of the central agencies is also a strong opponent of BJP and gradually it is also pushing aunt-nephew --- pishi-bhaipo 'family' raj !
