If you have a medico among friends and relatives; you would be knowing -
Jaw clenching is often an involuntary reaction to stress, anxiety, or deep concentration. It happens in political meetings too.
While it can happen at night while sleep, many people do it subconsciously during the day. It is frequently linked to tension !!
Mamata Banerjee faced that during one round of TMC MLAs meeting while she and her onetime powerful Bhaipo Abhishek Banerjee sat 'jaws clenched'.
And so much of grievance and almost desperation that when Mamata sought 'written grievances' - the response was a mocking laughter. Not surprisingly, many senior leaders later complimented three rebel leaders for having "belled the cat".
Sources say a few MLAs have been more than vocal in throwing questions about 'Union Territory of Diamond Harbour' -- direct reference to the kind of freehand given to Abhishek Banerjee.
"Jahangir Khan, the blessed child of the gloriously failed 'Diamond Harbour model', ran away. Did not contest election and he was not expelled," said one MLA.
The powerful 'aapa' almost sat clueless perhaps missing two of her former 'genuine organisation's men' - Suvendu Adhikari and Late Mukul Roy.
Of the 80 MLAs, there were 15 absentees for Mamata's Kalighat residence meeting and Eight of them did not inform why they were staying away.
Seven absentees had informed the leadership of their inability to attend the meet on that particular day.
When the leadership tried saying the party's stand, distancing from Jahangir's decision not to contest from Falta, was posted on X, one of the vocal MLAs said: "Please tell me you're joking!"
Post-meeting, someone said : "Pishi Bhaipo bujhtei parchhen ki shob holo aar ki hobey
"The aunt-nephew duo did not know what has hit them. And what worse can come".
The nephew and the aunt sat listening, mostly quiet.
Now, it's almost a common knowledge among TMC trackers that Ritabrata Banerjee, Kunal Ghosh and Sandipan Saha pulled no punches in directly attacking and "criticising" the supreme leadership.
According to 'The Telegraph' -- generally part of Kolkata's 'fish-fry journalism' reports acidly:
"This fairly unprecedented mutiny occurred shortly after the Election Commission data revealed that Mamata Banerjee trailed in 207 of the 267 booths of the Bhabanipur seat she lost to incumbent chief minister Suvendu Adhikari.
"Aar ki baaki acchey (What is further left)," said one.
Whispering and whatsapp jokes circulated among TMC leaders that the EC data had revealed on Bhabanipur polls so much within hours Mamata Banerjee made the lofty claim that the BJP will be gone from the Centre !!
A few TMC leaders have got feedback from the Congress - how much the grand old party and its leader Rahul Gandhi have heaved a sigh of relief at the defeat of DMK and TMC.
"The decimation of TMC has delighted the Congress most. Leaders are also raising why a Rajya Sabha MP (quiz master) reportedly throwing challenge whether PM Narendra Modi would resign after Bengal vote count," one source later said.
Leaders also are questioning the rationale of threats issued by Abhishek Banerjee on whether Amit Shah can visit Kolkata after 12 noon on the vote count day.
The Ghosh-Ritabrata-Saha trio brought up the purported list of 43 properties belonging to Abhishek in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation area alone, lambasting the level of corruption.
One 'rebel' leader said "Bhaipo (Abhishek) had said an electric crematorium will be set up in Falta, where those who die of heart attacks after May 4 will be cremated. Now, who is setting up that crematorium ? And who will be cremated?"
Kunal Ghosh even used the phrase 'Enough is enough'.
Mamata reportedly tried to repeat her previous instruction to submit grievances against the party leadership in writing, but they laughed, the source said.
"Although others were mostly quiet, many reached out to the trio later and said they had belled the cat and started a much-needed cleansing exercise in the party," the source said.
At a press conference, a former journalist and also arrested by Mamata regime; Kunal has tried to distance the party from the property-disputes and notices from KMC served to Abhishek Banerjee.
