NDPP assures Shah to ensure 'BJP man' in Rajya Sabha : There was Fatwah on me and my husband for 'Kashmir Files' : actress Pallavi Joshi

There was Fatwah on me and my husband Vivek Agnihotri : actress Pallavi Joshi

New Delhi

“The filming was the easiest part .....," recounts actress Pallavi Joshi, also co-producer of the film'The Kashmir Files'.

She says that a Fatwah was issued against her and husband Vivek Agnihotri on the last day of the film’s shooting in Kashmir.

“The shooting was the smallest part of our entire journey. The whole research, reaching out to people, getting money for the film, getting actors on board, everything was a massive challenge," recounts Pallavi, who also has an important role in the film.

"In the four years that we dedicated to this film, shooting took only a month. The only thing that happened was when we were shooting in Kashmir, we received a Fatwah issued on our names," she has been quotedas saying in the News18.com website.

"....When that happened, we were fortunately on our last scene. I told Vivek, ‘Let’s finish this scene quickly and head to the airport.’ We were leaving anyway, but I told him, ‘Let’s not say anything and finish the shoot right now.’ Because we wouldn’t get another chance to come back".

So, she explains when the last scene was finished. "I sent a few people to the hotel and said, ‘You guys start packing and put everything in the bag and get it to the sets and we’ll leave from there.’ That was the only challenge we faced while shooting."

Meanwhile, media reports said a day after 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, his actor-wife Pallavi Joshi, and producer Abhishek Agarwal met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, netizens have begun trending ‘Boycott Kapil Sharma Show’ on Twitter, again. Vivek hinted that Kapil Sharma had refused to have his team of 'The Kashmir Files' on his show given it didn’t have any big stars.

'The Kashmir Files' is Hindi film written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal.

Starring noted stars Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher, the film portrays the story of the exodus of

'Kashmiri Hindus' in the early 1990s due to the enhanced Kashmir insurgency by Pakistani-sponsored

terrorists.

The film was set to release on January 26, 2022, coinciding with the Republic Day, but

as the plot could embarrass and expose some interested parties, it was postponed over a piece of

litigation and also due to the Omicron variant spread.

It was only released recently after Bombay High Court had dismissed a petition from one Intezar Hussain Sayed.

"Now the biggest icon of this country Narendra Modi ji is promoting Vivek Agnihotri's

master piece 'The Kashmir Files'," went a tweet.

New Delhi

The BJP is all set to get its first Naga parliamentarian in the Upper House,  Rajya Sabha.

The NDPP leadership on Sunday conveyed to the senior BJP leader and Home

Minister Amit Shah that the the party would honour its words and ensure

victory of BJP nominee to the Rajya Sabha.

"If such a thing happens, BJP will for the first time get their own Naga

lawmaker in Indian parliament," a source said.

The assurance to this effect was conveyed formally to Shah by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP chief Chingwang Konyak in a meeting here on Sunday evening.

A BJP source in Delhi said there was no discussion on the Naga political

issue and the peace talks.

Sources further said Nagaland BJP President Imna Along and deputy chief

minister Y Patton met Home Minister Shah separately and discussed party matters.

Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to meet Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on

Monday or Tuesday to discuss about Naga peace talks and related developments.

The second part of the Budget session of Parliament gets underway on Monday.

Mr Rio, who is camping in Delhi since last few days earlier in the day met Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda.

"Called on Shri Arjun Munda, Honourable Union Minister for Tribal Affairs. We had a

fruitful discussion regarding  welfare schemes under the Ministry for the state of

Nagaland. Grateful to him for his concern and continued support," Rio tweeted.

During next round of meeting, Rio is expected the Home Minister on the resolution adopted by the Nagaland Consultative Committee wherein all important leaders, state legislators and representatives of social organisations including G B Federation have pressed for 'early solution to the Naga political problem and signing of a peace agreement'.

Polling for Rajya Sabha is to be held from 9 am to 4 pm on March 31 and the counting of votes will be taken up at 5 pm on the same day. However, in Nagaland the result may be out on March 24 as that is the last day of withdrawal of names. It is unlikely there will be any contest in Nagaland for the lone seat to the House of Elders.
