Amit Shah says in Lok Sabha, Mon incident was due to 'mistaken identity', says "pick up vehicle with civilians did not stop..raising suspicion and forces opened fire" .
"there were intelligence inputs....based on this 21 para commanders had laid an ambush, One vehicle
reached the spot....around the same time. An indication was made in attempt to stop the vehicle, but it did not.
Instead of halting the pick up vehicle tried to speed up....and so subsequently on apprehension that there could be suspected rebels/insurgents, the said vehicle was shot at.

The influential Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has called for a six hour Bandh commencing 6 am on Monday and five-day mourning throughout the state and Naga inhabited areas.
NSF appealed to the Naga people cutting across boundaries to refrain from any sort of merry making/festivities for the next five five days and to join in observing a 5-day mourning period w.e.f. December 6, 2021.

It also urged all to refrain from participating in the state government-run Hornbill Festival,
"In order to facilitate free and fair investigation of the case and looking at the complexity
of the entire case....," an SIT has been set up, Chief Secretary J Alam said in an order.
The probe team will be headed by IGP Limasunep Jamir and incude DIG Ms M. Roopa,
and three other officials Manoj Kumar, Killang Walling and Relo Aye.
DGP T John Longkumer has ruhed to the Mon district.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who heads
the NDPP-BJP-NPF 'opposition-less government', have condemned the incident.
Sources said 13 dead identified included some family members as well.
"There were two brothers each from two families".
Thapwang and Langwang were sons of one Leiwang while Yeihwang and Shomwang belonged to
the family of another ill-fated villager Chemwang.
"Condolences to the bereaved families and speedy recovery of those injured. High level SIT will investigate and justice delivered as per the law of the land. Appeal for peace from all sections," Nagaland Chief Minister Rio wrote on the microblogging site.
