And the Clock is ticking !!
Arrogance and sheer Ignorance have been motivating the US president.
"The assumption that pressure alone can break Tehran is not strategy, it is wishful thinking," says Danny Citrinowicz, a senior researcher.
Former Australian general and theorist of modern war, Mick Ryan, has unpacked some of the problems with Donald Trump’s threats.
Trump is actually struggling to come out with a new level of threat that would put real pressure on Iran.
Ashish Prashar, political strategist, former advisor to the Middle East peace envoy, and director of the “Game Over Israel” campaign, has dismissed ongoing U.S. calls for negotiations with Iran as political theater, arguing that Washington is seeking a face-saving exit amid escalating military pressure.
Prashar, who has worked with Western political leaders including Tony Blair, Boris Johnson, and Barack Obama, launched the “Game Over Israel” campaign in 2025 to push for Israel’s diplomatic and cultural isolation, including calls to suspend Israel from international sporting events.
To many at the global stage, the US talks about negotiations are just theatre. It’s a theatre for Western media and for the ruling class to show they are trying to resolve the issues diplomatically. But in reality, things are different.
“The Islamic republic of Iran, whose political identity is built around resistance to American coercion, is unlikely to respond differently.
‘Bridge and Power Plant Day’ is unlikely to change the Iranian regime’s strategic calculus and would not reopen the strait of Hormuz. It would, however, give the Iranian government its most powerful propaganda tool of the war,” he said.
The US President has now backed himself into a 'corner' with threats that the US military can't feasibly carry out in one fell swoop. And Iran knows it pretty well. There are other challenges too.
Former US defence officials and other analysts said the US simply can't destroy every bridge in a country the size of Iran in just a few hours.
Iran is approximately one-third the size of the continental US.
Moreover; the Americans may know the exact location of Iran's main nuclear facilities and other key infrastructure, but they are unlikely to identify thousands of other targets across the country.
Imbalances ... Checks and Balances
A historical reference may be relevant.
** Israel and the United States were both countries founded on violence.
They thrived with war and conflicts. Analysts say the bitter truth is the rest of the world also knows this.
Another truth and a vital one is that Trump is attempting to shape a narrative of victory despite setbacks.
Prashar says:
“Trump has us hanging regarding his so-called ‘annihilation’ of Iran. He is losing this war and is looking for a way to come out of it looking like the saviour and victor.”
Of course the risks of escalation is huge and Washington knows it well.
The historical trajectories of the US and Israel perhaps influence the current mess and the conflicting policies.
Background:
The 1947–1948 civil war in Mandatory Palestine (29 November 1947 – 14 May 1948) was the first phase of the 1948 Palestine war. It broke out after the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution on 29 November 1947 recommending the adoption of the Partition Plan for Palestine.
During the civil war, Palestine's Jewish and Arab communities clashed while the British, who had the obligation to maintain order, organized their withdrawal and intervened only occasionally.
It is not definitively known how or when Native Americans first settled the Americas.
The prevailing theory proposes that people from Eurasia followed game across Beringia, a land bridge that connected Siberia to present-day Alaska during the Ice Age, and then spread southward.
The early inhabitants, called Paleo-Indians, soon diversified into hundreds of culturally distinct groups.
Pointers:
** Iran and Israel became adversaries following the Iranian Revolution in 1979, when Iran severed ties and adopted an openly hostile stance toward Israel.
*** The Iran–Israel conflict is a long-standing geopolitical and military confrontation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Israel, involving proxy hostilities since 1985.
The direct clashes commenced only in 2024.

Things were mishandled certainly. Most if not all western leaders shrugged and kept mum as US and Israel carried out genocide with the aim to achieve regime change in Iran.
Things deteriorated so much that the US President now openly threatens genocide and even vows to eradicate a civilisation.
The ongoing war a geopolitical conflict; but it has become a spiritual war too.
The conflict thus has moved beyond operations, proxy warfare, and intelligence skirmishes. What we have hand is far deeper.
Perhaps those involved as the principal stakeholders also did not realise that the battle has got sucked up to history and theology.
This is no longer only a military confrontation. It will redefine the perception of strategic interests.
Today, it appears America is fighting an adversary it doesn’t understand. This has made the scene go out of control.
Two things about the conflict will be a puzzle the human race may have to debate and research about in years to come.
1. A supposed inferior power but with a DNA (like Persian) has not immediately succumbed.
2. A superior military power and 'perceived biggest power' under the sky has not achieved its objectives.
