Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a two-kilometer-long roadshow in the city which started from Sugriva Fort and continued till Lata Chowk. 

Ayodhya will be voting in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 20. The sacred Hindu temple city Ayodhya falls under Faizabad Parliamentary Constituency.   

The BJP has fielded its sitting MP Lallu Singh and he is locked in a triangular contest against Awadhesh Prasad of Samajwadi Party and BSP nominee Sachchidanand Pandey.
