Sabotage angle to Rail mishap: "Without deliberate interference it is impossible a rail route set for Main Line is switched to Loop line."

"....it is impossible that a route set for the Main Line is switched to the Loop line.....Govt source said, "without deliberate interference in the system" such a thing cannot happen !

West Bengal Leader of the Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari has added further angles when he said the CBI "should probe how Trinamool Congress leaders accessed the records of phone conversation between two Railway officials".

It has been reported that tele conversation between two Railway officials about the derailment of the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express near the Bahanaga railway station in Odisha's Balasore district were 'accessed' by Trinamool leaders

Sources said a CBI probe has been ordered on the recommendation of the Railway Board as there was a need for a more thorough investigation by a professional agency having expertise.

The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) was already probing the incident.

"Various kinds of information have been accessed from different quarters and thus there is a need for a professional investigative agency like CBI".

The accident in which a speeding Coromandel Express crashed into a stationary goods train on the loop line instead of travelling on the main line, indicated issues with the electronic interlocking system which changed the route of the train leading to the collision.

Adhikari claimed that since the time the Railway Board recommended a CBI probe into the train tragedy, panic has gripped the Trinamool leadership. "What is the reason for this panic, when the place of the accident is not West Bengal," Adhikari wondered.

On Saturday, Trinamool spokesman Kunal Ghosh had circulated the recorded call between the two officials through his social media handle, claiming that he could not verify the authenticity of the conversation.

"The Trinamool leaders have accessed and circulated a telephonic conversation between two senior officials of the Railways on social media. How could it be possible? I do not think that the call was leaked by the Railways. I strongly doubt that it was recorded by some officials of Kolkata Police," Adhikari told newspersons on Monday.

The BJP leader also said that he will wait for some days and then take necessary action to ensure that CBI includes this call leaking episode in its ambit of investigation into the Balasore train mishap that left nearly 300 people dead, including many from West Bengal.

"If nothing happens, I will personally go to Bhubaneswar and approach the CBI office there with my plea. If nothing happens even then, I will move the court," Adhikari said.
