Global Winds :::: 'Estranged ties' between India and US ::: Look how things change .... In 2024, Modi told US Congress --- “AI” stands for “America and India”

This is a case where things have grown wrong all of a sudden.

'Howdy Modi' in Houston and "Namastey Trump' in Ahmedabad now look fictional.

Did India's 'Operation Sindoor' change all that or was it simply because Narendra Modi is not helping Trump bag Nobel Peace prize ?

Indo-Russia friendship : Russian S-400 missile air defence systems wee helpful during Op. Sindoor

In his address to US Congress in 2024, PM Narendra Modi had said - “AI” stands for “America and India".

And see what's the hard reality of 2025. Modi's unique ability for playing with acronyms now is a thing of past in ties between New Delhi and Washington.

Or it's a fodder for Modi-bashing !!

One can say the Indian government as always has tended to 'under assess' the probably enemies.

The timing is equally bad. Narendra Modi's problems have increased manifold.

The fast approaching Bihar's assembly election is seriously a big puzzle for the BJP.

The cast and other local factors 'factor' a lot and even Hindu-Muslim narratives - those which work so well in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh -- does not have chance of yielding dividends for the BJP in Bihar. The electoral battle demands much more innovating strategies for assembly polls in the state.

US tariffs, voter rigging charges and also RSS chief 'interfering' in BJP mattershave forced PM Namo to navigate one of the most challenging stretches of his 11 years as the Prime Minister.

Map of Gujarat: Modi's Native province

As Prime Minister Namo had started on a confident note. His swearing in ceremony was attended by SAARC leaders and nation heads including Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan.

Modi tried with China - often repeatedly. He first rolled out the red carpet for Xi Jinping. There was the famous riverfront swing in Ahmedabad.

However, Chinese troops spoiled things. First was Doklam and then came in Galwan conflict in 2020 -- the worst timing to handle such a thing amid Corona crisis.

Then Pakistan kept itself busy doing non-sense - Pathankot, Uri and also Pulwama.

All these left Indian economy "squeezed" by the need of enhanced defence expenditures and to keep thousands of Indian troops on a war footing high in the Himalayas.

The BJP understands the gravity of the situation in 2025 and also the 'importance' of Narendra Modi.

The Lotus party thus in a social media graphic showed -- Modi taking blows on his 'back' from stones and bricks in the form of Tariffs. At the same time, the Prime Minister is depicted protecting a farmer with a plough on his shoulder.

Thus, it is never a case to write off Modi.

The Prime Minister continues to be" most popular" head of government globally with an approval rating exceeding 75%, according to data from Morning Consult.

The Tariffs from Trump and controversies (some time unwarranted) around Operation Sindoor and the 'quick' ceasefire on May 10th have made a good but complicated combo on the dining table. All these have made 2026 pols in Assam a serious business.

Of course the BJP and the Prime Minister (Modi) know the Bihar polls are complex. It is also being estimated that the Operation Sindoor or otherwise operations cannot give an easy win to the BJP.

Hence, challenges are manifold  in Bihar. The state may in effect witness  a hyper-local election with caste and joblessness figuring as key political issues.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has opened another front by targeting Election Commission.

Of courses the BJP hss dismissed the allegations.

"When Rahul Gandhi can’t cheat his way to power, he calls it a conspiracy," it said on X.

The Election Commission has asked Rahul Gandhi to "stop arriving at absurd conclusions and misleading the citizens of India".

BJP chief Mohan Bhagwat has been doing his part. He raised the 75 years retirement bar for  BJP leaders. He is also not allowing Modi to name any one of his Man Friday as BJP national president. Just look at the season. Even Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has resigned ....  not out of choice of course.

Modi will touch the 75th birthday on Sept 17th.

The BJP will always insist that there is no formal retirement age for its leaders. The party lawmaker Nishikant Dubey says without Namo; the BJP's strength will comedown to 150. And that would mean the Lotus parry will be out of power.
