Anti-Americanism from Nagpur's 'favourite and pampered boy' :::: Nitin Gadkari takes 'Dadagiri' jibe against Uncle Sam

There's more to it.

It's more than Tariff diplomatic politics. Probably it is more desi !

Former BJP chief and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's 'dadagiri' jibe amid Trump's tariff offensive could surprise many !!

Nitin Gadkari - reportedly was also in the race as pushed by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat - for BJP national presidentship.

That move was shielded by the Delhi's 'Gujarat Team'.

Gadkari, who was replaced by Rajnath Singh in 2o13 for some scams, urges India to boost exports, cut imports, and harness science and technology to achieve self-reliance.

Nitin Gadkari said India wouldn't bully anyone if it gets better technology

He said that countries indulging in “dadagiri” (bullying) on the global stage are able to do so because of their economic clout and technological edge.

Speaking at the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) in Nagpur, Gadkari said there is need to boost exports, cut imports, and harness science and technology to achieve self-reliance.

“Those who are indulging in ‘dadagiri’ are doing so because they are economically strong, and they have technology. If we get better technology and resources, we will not bully anyone, because our culture teaches us that welfare of the world is most important,” he said.

Gadkari's comments follow a fresh escalation in trade tensions after US President Donald Trump signed an order on August 6 imposing an additional 25 per cent duty on Indian goods, taking the total tariff to 50 per cent.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also indirectly given a message that India will put its national interests first, even if it means bearing a heavy cost.

He made it clear that the country will continue to support its farmers and absorb the impact of America's steep tariffs.

“For us, the interests of our farmers are the highest priority. India will never compromise on the welfare of farmers, fishermen, and dairy workers.”

Modi has also spoken about 'paying' a personal price and insisted that he is ready for the same.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also made a veiled attack on the American leadership.

"There are some people who are not happy with the speed at which India is developing. They are not liking it. 'Sabka boss toh hum hain', how is India growing at such a fast pace?," the Defence Minister said, reflecting on the diplomatic turbulence.

"Many are trying to ensure that products made in India, by Indian hands, become more expensive than those made in other countries, so that when prices rise, the world will stop buying them.

This effort is underway. But India is advancing so rapidly that I say with full confidence: no power in the world can now stop India from becoming a major global power," the minister asserted.
