Mossad .... Focus on Three-pronged core skills -- Intelligence gathering , Asset Development and Targeting of Adversaries ::: In India ... "it's a Sarkari job ... pension schemes"

One way of achieving Success in intelligence gathering is in altering the race and shifting the momentum. 

Israel's Mossad operates on the principle of striking threats in their own backyard and preferably during infancy. They would not wait for threats to materialize on their border. 

Experts who analyse "success" of the US-Israel combo in the ongoing conflict with Iran appreciate the fact that big Success can come with big ideas and hard work.

A former military intelligence top guy in Delhi says - Isreal has been  "continuously working on their challenges".

In terms of perspectives for India; he is candid:  "Note it, Israelis just don't bask in their glory. Glories are momentary .. more so in intelligence. Israelis know they are surrounded by a plethora of adversaries since their birth as a nation and they have been able to tackle them and put one against the other".

A few others endorse such views. One expert maintained that Mossad has evolved from traditional signals intelligence to highly sophisticated cyber operations. India, facing similar challenges, therefore ought to be encouraged to invest in indigenous technology and cybersecurity to counter modern threats.  

However, on ground zero ... we have a difference. The common Indians and those in office may feel "happy" after seeing 'Dhurandhar' and the antics in the movie.  From technical perspective too ... multi-pronged strategies were adopted. 

It's true espionage in the new world era is advancing towards cyber warfare and AI driven surveillance, Mossad’s evolution from traditional spy tactics to technological intelligence gathering presents a case study for intelligence agencies worldwide. 

Moreover, Mossad’s tactics and strategies remain highly relevant, offering key lessons for nations facing modern security challenges.

** Despite having a 'poor core adversary' like Pakistan, India gets surprised time and again. This is essentially a bigger faultline. 

"The attitude that let the problem come and we will see, is an improper approach. At times it appears, our issue is that we are not even good at Information Warfare but trust our own Narrative buildings," goes a cautioning.   

Former BJP MP Mahesh Jethmalani says -- "Israel has no luxury of being lazy at intelligence. It sits in a hostile neighbourhood ... Now bring that lens to India. When you live next to Pakistan’s terror ecosystem and a Bangladesh theatre that keeps throwing up radical modules, you don’t get to be sentimental about “soft power” as a substitute for hard intelligence."

For Israelis; the Yom Kippur Debacle and recently the 10/7 attacks were catastrophic. But they have made amends and the successes against the Axis of Resistance ( Hezbollah + Hamas + Houthis) and their master's Iran has been phenomenonal.

Israelis deserve appreciation for crystal clear and committed approach.

1. They are evolving and devising new technologies.

2. But no losing their core skills of intelligence gathering , asset development and Targeting of adversaries.

The challenges were always big. 

- Isreal has been surrounded and threatened by Arab Nations since its existence. But Mossad and the political leadership and defence forces have been able to handle all its neighbors. 

-- And also Carve out a leading space

- Iran since the Islamic Revolution has been keen to destroy Israel using proxies 

- Iran has created a web of aligned regimes and proxies (non state actors) known as the *Axis of Resistance* to include Iran - Iraq - Syria and the *H3 Proxies* (Hamas in Palestine territories/ Hezbollah in Lebanon / Houthis in Yemen).

Mindset issues:

Major limitations for good and foolproof intelligence in India --

- Govt (including intelligence departments/wings) jobs are like luxury seeking stint. Worse, it is to make money and ensure facilities and perks for self, children, pet dogs and even in-laws. 

- This will impact outcome.

- Legacy of 75 years plus -- India that is Bharat is still a nation of work shirkers. Principled commitment is for others; and seldom for selves.

- For example, Bengalis -- need to come out of 'know all mindset'. Ki Hochhey phenomenon.

In Maharashtra - they may call it - Kasa kai. In Nagaland - "Na jaane ho". And being proud to think "we are not Indians" ... but craze for Indian currency notes is phenomenal.

In Assam -- the syndrome has a name -- Lahe Lahe.

In Delhi - Jugadu and 'faida kya'. 

Every citizen wants to end up as a Sarkari Babu. 

Even journos are interested for press cards and Govt accreditation but focus is free and concession in train travel and free health check up in central govt run hospitals.
