The grim flood situation prompted authorities and Assam Rifles to issue helpline numbers to assist residents in Imphal and other parts of Manipur.
A large number of people are stranded in their homes.
Major roads across the districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur, and Kakching have been submerged.
These have brought transportation to a standstill. Assam Rifles quickly plunged into relief and rescue operation under Operation Jalrahat-2.

Authorities have issued an orange alert, urging people to take all necessary precautions. According to the flood control room, the Imphal River has crossed the high flood level, while the Nambul and Iril Rivers are also flowing at dangerous levels — recorded at 782.1 metres and 784 metres respectively.

Rescue efforts were carried out under intense conditions, with multiple columns fully equipped with buoyant rescue boats operating relentlessly to assist affected civilians. The situation is now under control, and Assam Rifles remains fully committed to supporting the people of Manipur during this crisis, sources in the paramilitary said.
Eight Relief camps/shelters were opened in Imphal region.
Most of the affected people have gone to the houses of their relatives, and about 800 persons were living in the relief camps.
Over a thousand houses have been completely inundated by flood as the major rivers flowing in Manipur were all running above the danger levels.
In Tripura, over 5,000 city dwellers have taken shelter in 27 relief camps of the Agartala Municipal Corporation.
Low-lying areas have been inundated with flood waters, West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar said.
