New Delhi
Time to move over from hilarious comedies on social media; and the focus should be more on ground works.
Central BJP leader Arvind Menon recently visited the state and in fact, he and Abhay Giri (Organisational in-charge of Manipur and Nagaland) were more than unhappy at the functioning of BJP leaders in the state.
Incidentally, the two leaders reportedly reprimanded state BJP leaders and Karyakartas separately during Dimapur and in Wokha meetings.

Sources say the deliberation in Dimapur which was graced by a key poll strategist for the saffron party Arvind Menon was thinly attended. Giri generally shuttles between Imphal and Dimapur.
Menon has served in the past as BJP's poll co-in charges in most challenging states of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Deputing him for Nagaland only showed central BJP leadership's utmost sincerity of purpose for the ensuing elections.
Though state unit president Temjen Along attended the Dimapur meet on July 10, it was attended by only three ministers.
Deputy CM Y Patton could not as he has been unwell.
Even from districts, the turnout was poor with hardly two-three district unit presidents making it.
It is learned that Menon, who is adept in several languages, himself was not impressed with the response from state and district level workers.
"Moreover, an explanation was made by the state unit chief and others that the turnout was poor due to the Tuluni festival of the Semas and the funeral function for Chuba Ao's wife. These are not at all convincing," a source said.
Even at the meeting, a sort of 'comedy circus' prevailed, sources said, especially in reference to remarks about the illness of the Deputy Chief Minister.
One key leader said, "Patton is sick and good that he did not come; he could have all of us sick too".
Such remarks may go down well in the social media, but politics for BJP is more than just eyeballs in TV or hits and likes in social media, the state leaders were categorically told. Both Menon and Giri disapproved such remarks.
At the Dimapur meeting in a popular private hotel, Abhay Giri, organisational in-charge for BJP in Manipur and Nagaland, expressed displeasure over five office bearers recently rushing to Delhi with a report on 'feedback on general mood of voters in Nagaland' without the knowledge of state unit president.
"In BJP, things do not operate in such manners. Discipline is something very important and workloads are shared and people have to work with a sense of unity," Giri reportedly told them.
The meeting in Wokha was attended only by Mr Giri as part of his routine travel to remote areas.
At the Wokha meeting, he was unhappy to learn that party's campaign materials/pamphlets highlighting various developmental schemes initiated by the Modi government did not reach party Karyakartas and others in hard copies.
Moreover, the Wokha in-charge of the party was in Kolkata on the specific day.
Giri was told that in some assembly segments like Bhandari, some whatsapp messages were passed on the same.
Giri countered this by saying the Lotus party's on-ground works do not happen that manner.
The party's Yuva Morcha has been asked to ensure that all campaign materials and pamphlets in hard copies reach people and party leaders at the ground level.
Out of four assembly segments in Wokha district, no assembly constituency
level or Mandal level chiefs attended the Wokha meet on July 11, sources said.
The BJP had won Bhandari (Mhonlumo Lotha) in 2018 while Deputy CM Patton is legislator from Tyui assembly segment.
The saffron party strategists feel it has the potential to make a clean sweep of winning all four seats in Wokha district. Wokha town and Sanis are two other constituencies in the district.
More and more central BJP leaders and in-charges of various morchas will be visiting Nagaland in the next few weeks.
The state unit office bearers meeting at Kohima on July 12 (Tuesday) attended by Giri was also thinly attended, sources said.
In this meeting too, important state leaders arrived late.
The saffron party in Delhi - irrespective of what is being told by a section of state leaders in Nagaland - is sincere for a full blown battle in the ensuing assembly polls.
"Considering that the BJP's was the best strike rate of 12 out of 20 seats it contested in 2018 and the party having come to power in neighbouring Manipur, we feel, the prospects are very bright to pick up at least 35 seats in Nagaland too," a key leader said.
What the party needs is to pull up the socks and get battle ready - firstly to work harder.
