Shah's poll bugle against Mamata: You'll be made 'Rajnaitik Sharnatri' - a Political Refugee

Kolkata/New Delhi: About a year to go for assembly polls in Mamata Banerjee-ruled West Bengal but Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Tuesday sounded the poll bugle and gave a clarion call for the ouster of the Trinamool Congress dispensation from the corridors of power in the state.

In reference to Ms Banerjee's stiff opposition to the new Citizenship law, Shah said: "Mamata Ji needs to come clean on why she is opposing the CAA. What is your problem if Namshudras and other such communities live respectfully in the country? People of Bengal are asking you this question as well. You will have to answer".

"You are opposing the CAA which is pro refugees but once the votes will be counted in Bengal you will see people of West Bengal will make you Rajnaitik Sharnatri (political refugees)," said the Home Minister.

"Bangal ko hum badal na chahtey haen (We want to bring in changes in the state of West Bengal)," Shah said addressing a Virtual Rally - the first of a series - and urged the electorate to give an opportunity to BJP as they have earlier tried and tested communists and also Trinamool Congress.

Upping the ante against Ms Banerjee, who lately said the Centre should take over the reins of power
in the BJP feels her government has failed to handle coronavirus crisis, former BJP president Amit Shah said:"Bangal ki janata aap ki ichha bahut zaldi pura karne wali hae (I can assure you that people of West Bengal will soon fulfill your wishes)".

Shah said it was also unbecoming of Mamata Banerjee to call the Shramik trains Corona Express.
"...today i can tell you this Corona Express will soon make way for your (Mamata's) exit out of West Bengal. Such remarks only added to the injuries of the migrant workers from Bengal," he said.

Urging the citizens of Bengal to prepare themselves for 'change' and throw out Mamata Banerjee regime, the Home Minister said - the communists were removed in search of good governance in the state, but Trinamool Congress also failed".

"..... ek bar BJP ko mauka dizije (Give BJP a chance)," said Shah adding that the examples of good performance of BJP and NDA can be seen in states such as Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan - which were once BIMARU states.

He said the future BJP government in West Bengal will crackdown on corruption.

On various corruption charges against the Mamata Banerjee government, he said it would be imperative to know where has the money given by Centre after the recent cyclone and to deal with Corona crisis gone.

".....all of it has gone to the syndicate and tol baazi (Trinamool looters)," he said.

Shah also said the state government has deliberately did not implement Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state as that would have popularised Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said the state government should immediately send a list of farmers to get the benefits under central schemes.

"Please send us the list,  we want to give Rs 6000 to farmers in Bengal, why you are throwing hurdles?," Shah asked.

In the context of BJP's 18 seats win in Lok Sabha polls, Shah said “For me, the most important win was not the 303 (BJP's Lok Sabha tally) but the 18 seats we won in Bengal in the Lok Sabha elections".
