“After suffering huge losses, Pakistan’s DGMO came pleading ‘don’t hit us anymore" - Modi in Lok Sabha :::: And more Quotes

("Congress' bharosa is manufactured through Pakistan controlled remote control. I'm surprised at the questions being raised on the timing of Operation Mahadev".)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday continued his blistering attack on the Congress. But he revolved around old pet themes of Nehru-bashing often using new phrases for the grand old party.

He also accused the Congress of failing to back the government after the Pahalgam terror attack and during Operation Sindoor.

Some one liners and quotes from Modi's July 29 speech in Lok Sabha are shared here:

"After sharing waters with Pakistan, Nehru also gave money to Islamabad to build dams ....

"Nehru knew of diplomacy that had no place for farmers".

"When I speak of this Parliament session being a Vijayotsav, it is of destroying the headquarters of terror".

"The Congress and its allies have unfortunately become spokespersons of Pakistani propaganda. India is becoming self-reliant, but Congress is now dependent on Pakistan for issues. The entire country is amazed to see Congress give a clean chit to Pakistan and sing the same tune as theirs."

- “While the world stood with India, the Congress did not,”

"No country in the world has stopped India from any action in its defence against terrorism. Of the 193 countries of the United Nations, only three countries spoke in favour of Pakistan at the UN."

** "On the night of 9 May, the US Vice President (VP) tried talking to me, but I couldn't talk to him due to meetings with the army. When I called back, the US VP told me that Pakistan is planning a big attack. I told him that if Pakistan attacks India, our attack would be much bigger as we will respond to bullets with cannons."

** "India got support from the entire world, but it is unfortunate that the Congress did not support the valour of our soldiers. Congress leaders targeted me for political gains, but their frivolous statements ended up discouraging our brave soldiers."

"Pakistan's nuclear bluff was called out. India proved that it will no longer bend before nuclear blackmail. India showed its technical prowess with precision strikes. Pakistan's airbase and assets were severely damaged, many of which are still in ICU."

"On the night of May 6 and morning of May7, India did what it had decided to do and Pakistan couldn't do anything. The world saw the strength of self-reliant India during Operation Sindoor. We destroyed terror sites deep inside Pakistan within 22 minutes to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam attack."

“After suffering huge losses, Pakistan’s DGMO came pleading ‘don’t hit us anymore, we can’t suffer any longer’…No leader of any country asked India to stop the operation (Sindoor).”

"This is victory celebration for decimating (Pakistan’s) terror headquarters… it is a victory celebration for fulfilling the oath of the ‘sindoor'… it is victory celebration of the unity, willpower of 140 crore Indians."

"Before asking why PoK has not been taken back yet, Congress must respond -- who let it go. India is still suffering the pain of mistakes committed by previous Congress governments, starting from Jawaharlal Nehru.

Then Congress governments lost opportunities to get back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir when India had Pakistan's land and soldiers in custody."

“The world has seen the scale of our operations. They range from Sindoor to Sindhu (Indus); Pakistan knows they have to pay huge price for any misadventure. We now respond on our own terms; we do not differentiate between masterminds of terror and state actors. No country in the world has stopped India from any action in its defence against terror.”

"Operation Sindoor makes it clear that India has decided on three points.

1) If there is a terrorist attack on India, we will respond in our own method, on our conditions and on our time.

2) No nuclear blackmail would work now.

3) We will not see terrorist-supporting governments and terror masterminds as two separate entities".

Mamata knows she may face her nemesis in 2026 as EC signals rolls revision

West Bengal is due to go to the polls in April-May 2026.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the data from the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll last conducted in West Bengal in 2022.

This has put the Mamata Banerjee in a panic mode leading to deep concerns about a fresh such exercise in neighbouring poll-bound Bihar.

The 2003 Bihar SIR data was published days before the ECI launched the fresh exercise to revise the electoral roll on June 28 as a reference point for the submission of identification documents.

Nearly 60% of the total electorate were not required to submit any documents. They had to verify their details and submit enumeration forms.

West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress slammed the SIR in Bihar, alleging it was a ploy to surreptitiously introduce the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

On July 21, Banerjee vowed she would not allow SIR in Bengal.

She asked Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure that names of voters are not struck off from the electoral roll and people are not harassed.

“The ECI takes over only after the poll dates are announced. Until then, and even after that, the administration lies with the state government. You are employees of the state government. Do not harass any individual needlessly,” she said at an administrative meeting in Birbhum.

The West Bengal data was published on Monday, July 28th, under the head of “Electoral Roll of SIR, 2002” on the website of the state’s chief electoral officer.

It covers 11 of the state’s 23 districts— Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling,

Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda,

Nadia, Howrah, Hooghly, Midnapore, and Bankura,

-- covering 103 of 294 assembly constituencies. The data on remaining assembly constituencies will be updated soon.

Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari alleged that there has been a sudden spike in applications to enrol voters in districts bordering Bangladesh.

He added that this coincided with a directive from the state administration to district-level officers to issue domicile certificates. Adhikari said he has written to the ECI to ensure that no domicile certificates issued on or after July 25, 2025, are accepted or considered during the SIR if such activity is conducted in West Bengal.

TMC lawmaker Mahua Moitra is among those who have challenged Bihar SIR in the Supreme Court. Moitra’s petition said the ECI has decided to undertake a similar exercise in West Bengal and sought an order to restrain it.

“The ECI’s decision to conduct a second revision in such a draconian manner in a poll-bound state is unjustified and unreasonable,” Ms Moitra said. The poll panel has said the release of SIR 2002 partly for West Bengal is a routine matter and "ongoing process".

The electoral data of the remaining districts in West Bengal will be also released soon.

In West Bengal's politics over the next few months the issues of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi influx will dominate the proceedings and political atmosphere.

Mamata Banerjee has claimed that Bengalis in BJP-ruled states are being embarrassed in the name of eviction drive against Bangladeshis and Rohingyas.

The West Bengal unit of BJP has said:

"We thank Bengalis living in other states and abroad, because without their help, it would never have been possible for the local administration (in these states) to apprehend Bangladeshis and Rohingyas".

"Just at the instance of one family, the Congress should stop giving clean chit to Pakistan" ::::: "We had the support of the world but, sadly, not from the Congress" -- PM Modi makes a blistering attack on Congress

"Congress always compromised national security. Before asking why PoK wasn’t reclaimed, they should answer who let Pakistan take it. The answer is clear. In 1971, we captured 1,000 Pakistani soldiers and large parts of Pakistan.

With more vision, PoK could have been reclaimed then. Between 1962-63, Congress leaders proposed abandoning parts of Jammu and Kashmir".

Operation Sindoor zaari hae

"Just at the instance of one family, the Congress should stop giving clean chit to Pakistan.... Congress should take corrective steps," -- he said in Lok Sabha replying to the 16-hour long debate on Operation Sindoor.

"I urge Congress leaders not to come under pressure from one family and not to turn a moment of national pride into a matter of mockery"

"Operation Sindoor makes it clear that India has decided on three points.

1) If there is a terrorist attack on India, we will respond in our own method, on our conditions and on our time.

2) No nuclear blackmail would work now.

3) We will not see terrorist-supporting governments and terror masterminds as two separate entities," PM Narendra Modi said in Lok Sabha.

Narendra Modi also lashed out at the Congress over its lack of support after Pahalgam attack and said while the world supported India, it found no support from Congress.

"We had the support of the world but, sadly, not from the Congress," he said.

PM added, "Just in a few minutes after our Operation, our military told the Pakistan military that we had this aim and we have achieved it, to know what they were thinking. We achieved our target 100 per cent. Had Pakistan used its brain, it wouldn’t have stood with terrorists. But shamelessly, they stood with terrorists. We were prepared and awaiting..."

Minutes before PM Modi began his Parliament speech, Rahul Gandhi tore into the Centre and said there was no "freedom of operation and manoeuvre for the armed forces" during Operation Sindoor. PM today underlined that the government gave the armed forces a free hand and Pakistan could do nothing.

Speaking about Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said, "After Pahalgam, the Pakistani forces anticipated a big response from India. They were giving us nuclear threats. On the night of May 6-7, we conducted an Operation the way we wanted, and Pakistan couldn't do anything. In 22 minutes, we avenged the April 22 attack"

"Congress sacrificed country's security for their politics of appeasement and vote bank"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while leading Operation Sindoor debate in Parliament, recalled how Pakistan pleaded for a ceasefire after India's counter-terror operation.

“Pakistan said, 'Bahut maara, ab jyada maar jhelne ki takat nahi hai'. They asked us to stop the war," said the PM.

"Bas karo, bahut maara hai (please stop the attack, you have hit too hard)," PM recalled how Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) pleaded with his Indian counterpart for a ceasefire.

"India got support of the entire world... no world leader asked India to stop... but it is unfortunate the Congress did not support the valour of our soldiers," he said. The PM also hit out at Congress for "for looking for politics in the death of the innocents in the Pahalgam attack".

The Prime Minister also said --

PM Narendra Modi said --

"The country is surprised that Congress has given a clean chit to Pakistan.

They are saying that the terrorists of Pahalgam were from Pakistan. Give us proof of this.

Pakistan is also demanding the same thing that Congress is making..."

#India is making fast progress but #Congress is gradually getting more dependent on #Pakistan for issues -- PM #Modi in #LokSabha

#Congress now has to import issues from #Pakistan -- PM @narendramodi

"Waah re bayan bahaduron! -- Congress gets a new adjective ---

(means rhetoric-masters)

"Two or three days after 22nd April, some leaders began mocking me, asking, 'Where has PM Modi gone?' They used the killings of innocent people for their selfish politics.

Their remarks, this 'chichhorapan', demoralised the Armed Forces.

A few Congress leaders do not have faith in India's capabilities or in our Armed Forces, which is why they are questioning Operation Sindoor.

By doing so, they may get media attention, but they will never earn a place in the hearts of the people."

PM Narendra Modi said in Lok Sabha:

"On the night of 9th May, the Vice President of America tried to talk to me. He tried for an hour, but I was in a meeting with my army, so I could not pick up his call. Later, I called him back.

The Vice President of America told me on the phone that Pakistan is going to launch a big attack. My answer was that if Pakistan has this intention, it will cost them a lot.

If Pakistan attacks, we will respond by launching a big attack. This was my answer..."

"On one hand, India is moving ahead at a fast pace towards self-reliance, but Congress is becoming dependent on Pakistan for issues.  Unfortunately, Congress is importing issues from Pakistan...".

"Terrorists are crying, their masterminds are crying and seeing them cry, some people are crying here too.

They tried to play a game during surgical strike, it didn't work. During airstrike, they tried playing another game. That didn't work either.

When #OperationSindoor took place, they adopted a new tactic - "Why did you stop?"...

Waah re bayan bahaduron!  (oh dear ... rhetoric masters)

You need one or the other excuse to oppose. So, not just me but the entire country is laughing at you."

On Congress MP Praniti Shinde's now-expunged remark in Lok Sabha yesterday, PM Modi says,

"...She was made to say that Operation Sindoor was a 'tamasha'. This is like putting acid (on the wounds) of the 26 people killed by terrorists...".

"Congress is asking today ... why did we not take the Pak Occupied Kashmir ... well they can only ask me ...who else they can ask".

Modi also stated:

"After the Pahalgam attack, one of our BSF jawans was captured by Pakistan.

They thought Modi was cornered. They began spreading baseless rumours about me and targeted me on social media.

But that very same jawan returned to India safely and with dignity.

"The terrorists were left crying after our response, and it seems some people here are also upset to see them suffer."

“When we launched Operation Sindoor, some people refused to believe that we had actually struck the terrorists. But when the operation was concluded, those very same people started questioning why it was stopped. ‘Wah re bayan bahaduron!’ you always find some excuse to oppose and protest.

It’s not just me; the entire nation is laughing at you".

"Today, when there is no shortage of evidence and everything is clearly visible before our eyes, this is the state of affairs. One wonders, if there had been no evidence, what would these people (Opposition leaders) have done?

There are moments that bring pride to the nation, times that reflect our strength, and it’s equally important to acknowledge those. Our air defence system is being talked about around the world. It shattered Pakistan’s missiles and drones like they were mere straws."

Akhilesh Yadav (Samajwadi Party) and Home Minister Amit Shah clash in Lok Sabha

The Home Minister quizes Yadav. "Do you keep talking to Pakistan".

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Union Home Minister Amit Shah traded barbs in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

Shah was intervening during a debate on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack on Tuesday.

A clip of the heated exchange inside Parliament has gone viral on social media.

When Amit Shah was praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for successfully carrying out Operation Sindoor, under which the armed forces destroyed terrorist infrastructure through cross-border strikes inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, he claimed the Army and CRPF had neutralised the "Aaka" (Master) of terrorists.

At this point, the Kannauj MP intervened and reportedly said, "Aaka toh Pakistan mein hain" (The master is in Pakistan).

It was then Shah asked the former UP CM about his plans.

Amit Shah's response resulted in uproar from Samajwadi Party MPs, who rose from their seats and objected to his remarks.

"If there is one international forum that should have the biggest responsibility to work in the direction of counter-terrorism, it should be the United Nations. But, unfortunately, some of its decisions raise serious questions that include appointing Pakistan as vice-chair of their Counter-Terrorism panel," said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Rajya Sabha.

He also said: "I am not criticizing the then government (UPA). They did what they thought was appropriate after the Mumbai attack. I just want to tell you that today's India is different; it doesn't believe in submitting dossiers, but enters into the adversary's territory and hits them."

"Whatever the circumstances, it has always been the stand of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and mine personally, that the day will surely come when the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) will have the good fortune of becoming a part of India's governance system".

"The purpose of this operation (Sindoor) was not to start a war, but to compel the enemy to submit through a demonstrative show of force. On the morning of May 10, when the Indian Army targeted multiple Pakistani airfields, Pakistan suffered massive losses.

The operation was halted not by our DGMOs, but by Pakistan's. It was stopped by Pakistan's DGMOs on the condition that it would not be considered terminated. If Pakistan commits another act of terrorism in the future, we will not hesitate to resume the operation.

Congress MP Manish Tewari on Tuesday stirred a controvrsy and added further fuel to speculation about 'internal rifts' within the party after posting a cryptic message on social media.

Without naming anyone directly, Tewari shared a pointed quote outside Parliament: "There is a saying in English -- 'If you don't understand my silences, you will never understand my words."

Reportedly, he was not included by Congress in the list of speakers for the debate on Operation Sindoor.

Manish Tewari was part of the lawmakers' delegation those went abroad to share the Indian side of the story vis-a-vis Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.

"...Love for China passed down three generations" ::::: Amit Shah blasts Nehru's foreign policy ... says --- “Today, China is in the UN Security Council, and India is not" ::::: "Pakistan born due to mistake by Congress"

"Syaahi padd gayi inke chehre pe’

(Their faces have been smeared with ink)”

- Amit Shah on why they were not happy due to success of Operation Mahadev and Operation Sindoor.

“Today, China is in the UN Security Council, and India is not. Modi is trying his best to get India to become a part of the UN Security Council. Jawaharlal Nehru’s stand is responsible for this. When our jawans were facing Chinese soldiers in Doklam, Rahul Gandhi was holding a meeting with the Chinese ambassador.

This love for China has passed down three generations from Jawaharlal Nehru, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi,” Home Minister Amit Shah said in Lok Sabha.

“…Operation Sindoor killed those who sent the terrorists, and Operation Mahadev killed those who carried out the attack… I thought that after hearing this news, there would be a wave of happiness in the ruling and the Opposition parties, ‘Magar Syaahi padd gayi inke chehre pe’

(Their faces are smeared with ink)… What kind of politics is this?” Shah said during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha.

He further attacked the opposition, which had questioned the whereabouts of the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, saying that the “security forces have killed at least 100 people”.

He said that there would be no Pakistan if they didn’t accept partition.

“Pakistan is Congress’ mistake. If they had not accepted partition, there would have been no Pakistan today,” Shah said while addressing the Lok Sabha.

He slammed India's first PM Jawaharlal Nehru and said the latter was responsible for India’s not being a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He further alleged that the Gandhi family’s “love for China” has been passed down from three generations.

He further attacked the opposition, which had questioned the whereabouts of the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, saying that the “security forces have killed at least 100 people”.

“Those who were hiding during your tenure are being searched and killed today,” Shah said, adding, “They (oppn) were asking yesterday where the perpetrators of Pahalgam went… At least 100 people have been killed by our forces… On May 7, our job was completed at 1:26 AM. This is not Manmohan Singh’s government; we will not sit quietly and send dossiers… On May 9, 11 of Pakistan’s air bases were destroyed… Attack on eight of the air bases was so precise that it shook Pakistan’s air defence system,”

Responding to the opposition’s “why there was no war” charge, the Union Home Minister said that Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) exists only because of Jawaharlal Nehru. He claimed that the Nehru government gave 80 per cent of Indus waters to Pakistan and forgot about PoK in 1971 during Indira Gandhi’s tenure as PM.

“Yesterday, they (Congress) were raising questions about why there was no war….Today, PoK exists only because of Jawaharlal Nehru…In 1960, they gave 80 per cent of the Indus waters to Pakistan….In 1971, during the Simla Agreement, they (Congress) forgot about PoK. If they had taken PoK then, we would not have to carry out attacks on camps there now,” Shah said.

Shah went on to take a jibe at the opposition after informing the Lok Sabha that three terrorists who were involved in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack have been killed. He said, “Magar Syaahi padd gayi inke chehre pe’ (Their faces have been smeared with ink)”.

"Not a single civilian killed during Operation Sindoor, only terrorists" ---- :: "We have proof," claims Amit Shah on Pak involvement in Pahalgam terrorists : : Slams P Chidambaram

"These were the same terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack. We have irrefutable proof. Their Pakistani voter numbers were pulled out. What more evidence is needed?" Amit Shah said.

In total, 1,055 people were interrogated for over three hours. Based on the information, sketches were created. Following this, on June 22, two men - Bashir and Parvez - were identified as men who provided shelter to the terrorists.  -- Home Minister

Asserting that India possesses conclusive evidence of the terrorists' identity and origin, Amit Shah said two of the terrorists killed as part of Operation Mahadev had Pakistani voter identity numbers and that even the chocolates recovered from their possession were manufactured in Pakistan.

He also accused Chidambaram of giving a "clean chit" to Pakistan with such statements.

Shah claimed there were conclusive evidence that two of the terrorists had Pakistani voter identity numbers, and even the chocolates recovered from them were manufactured in Pakistan.

It may be mentioned that after three months and six days, Army and other security forces including J&K police hunted down the mastermind of a terrorist attack in which 26 civilians were shot dead in the Baisaran valley of Pahalgam on April 22.

The security forces avenged the attack by killing Hashim Musa, alias Suleiman Shah, in an encounter near Srinagar along with two terrorists today.

Suleiman Shah, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, is a former commando of the Pakistan Army's elite unit - Special Service Group (SSG). He later reportedly joined UN-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed's LeT to carry out terror activities.

Interveing in the debate on Operation Sindoor, the Home Minister said Lok Sabha on Tuesday, July 29th, that all three terrorists killed in Monday's 'Operation Mahadev' in Srinagar were Pakistani nationals.

These Pakistanis had carried out the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam killing 26 Hindus.

Responding to Congress leader P Chidambaram's recent remarks suggesting the attackers could have been "homegrown" and questioning the evidence of Pakistani links, Shah said India had irrefutable proof of their identity and origin.

"Terrorism is due to Pakistan and Pakistan was created due to Congress mistakes.....

They committed a mistake by accepting Partition".

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said: "In a joint Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police have neutralised three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack."

Union Home Minister also said -

"Yesterday, they (Congress) were raising questions about why there was no war....Today, PoK exists only because of Jawaharlal Nehru...In 1960, they gave 80% of the Indus waters to Pakistan....

In 1971, during the Simla Agreement, they (Congress) forgot about PoK. If they had taken PoK then, we would not have to carry out attacks on camps there now...".

Shah observed:

: "Yesterday, former Home Minister Chidambaram raised a question about the proof of the terrorists coming from Pakistan... Whom does he want to save?

What will he gain by defending Pakistan?... We have the proof that these three were Pakistanis. We have voter ID numbers of the two of them... The chocolates recovered from them are made in Pakistan... The former Home Minister of this country is giving a clean chit to Pakistan.

If they were not Pakistanis, then Chidambaram is also raising the question as to why Pakistan was attacked... 130 crore people are watching their conspiracy to save Pakistan...".

Shah further said, "Yesterday they (Congress) were asking us where the terrorists came from and who was responsible for it. Of course, it is our responsibility as we are in power.

Yesterday, former Home Minister Chidambaram ji raised the question - what is the proof that the terrorists came from Pakistan? I want to ask him what he will get by saving Pakistan. When he says this, it means they are giving a clean chit to Pakistan."

Chidambaram, a former Home Minister himself, had on Monday questioned the assumption that the Pahalgam attackers were from Pakistan, saying: "Have they (government) identified the terrorists? Where they came from? I mean, for all we know, they could be homegrown terrorists. Why do you assume that they came from Pakistan? There's no evidence of that."

Facing criticism for his statement, Chidambaram later issued a clarification. Hitting back at what he called a "deliberate misinformation campaign", he said his remarks were being misrepresented by selectively muting and clipping portions of his interview.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah blames Jawaharlal Nehru for Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

"In 1948, Indian armed forces were in a decisive position to take back PoK, but then PM Nehru declared a unilateral ceasefire," said Mr Shah in Parliament.

"We conducted surgical strikes inside Pakistan occupied Kashmir; strikes done 100km inside their country," said Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament while sharing information on Operation Sindoor.

"Not a single civilian killed during Operation Sindoor, only terrorists and terror bases," said Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
